Thoughts On Brewster - SD Game

What shocking a young player getting better after more game experience and practice

I mean they are all bums if they do not hit the field as a Pro Bowler instantly

Yea an amazing concept time and patience with young players and they improve

Yeah, really. What if these guys pay off for us? Then maybe the "Jerry doesn't do anything for the offensive line" talk will go away. Nah, haters gonna hate.

He looked very solid - good at RT during first half.

Larry English and Phillips are no slouches.

He has no business playint at LT.

There is going to be a lot of crow to be eaten if we hit on him and Young.

That could be the future right side of our OL.

I think he could be a backup at LT. I don't think he is horrible there, but the fact that he could backup there bodes well for him on the right side.

What I do think, is Alex Barron better get his butt on the field because Brewster is taking his job...

We have depth at Tackle. Young Depth and a young stud in the making at LT.

People need to stop panicking.....

It just aggravates me with young players we had people cutting Jenkins and calling him a bust after one stupid play his rookie year and ignoring every thing else about the player. A lot of those guys are all over his jock now.

It kills me that some people just do not give guys time to develop Free was a bust after two years because he was not starting. He was a 4th round pick that need time people.

Brady James took to year 3 to even see the field on something besides special teams. Guys do develop with time and coaching if you allow it to happen. If a guy has a bad work ethic buy all means cut him but if he show flash in practices and bust his arse and you can keep them on the roster you do

O Line leaked like a sive on middle blitz first half. Same ole, same ole.

And yet, the Chargers got no sacks until the 4th quarter...

I'm thinking I probably shouldn't trust your analytical skills... :D

Maybe I missed it, but why is no one talking about the pink elephant in the room? -- run blocking.

Everyone's so worried about the 11 sacks we gave up that we are discussing these lineman based on pass protection only.

But how did Brewster, Holland, and the all the other starters and backups do in that regard? Running the ball is always the first thing you want to be able to do consistently.

I am looking forward to someone breaking down the film on the run game, which on the 1st team was almost non-existent.

In fact, we haven't been getting a good push in general this preseason.

I am very curious to how Holland and Brewster and Free did in this regard.

Pleasantly surprised with Brewster, I really thought he'd struggle coming off that injury but he played quite well. I'm gonna sleep well tonight thinking about this o-line..

Brewster has had 9 months of being cleared for a full workout and weight program but he still looks soft and has that gut. I think our coaches need to stay on his butt about doing the work in the weight room and dropping the spare tire. But he got the job done even if he does not look pretty doing it. This kid looks like a real keeper. After years of not being able to develope our own tackles the dry spell looks over. Now for the middle of the line, though Costa looks solid, bright is a possibility so there is some hope there but we need more young guys with potential in the middle.

Romo's gonna get KILT behind that makeshift offense line featurin' Bobby Brewster!

He is so stupid, I really dislike Dallas media and he tops my list of disdain.

Great post but wasted on our residential fools, they know who they are, media not excluded.

Nobody run blocked well last night, the only exception was late in the game with under 2 mins to go, they ran the ball fior a first down on 3 straight plays with SD up expecting runs, they ran out the clock because of it.

The run blocking is definitely an issue, whether its starters or backups.

Good to hear about Brewster and about Costa also performing well.

Atleast Some of us stated before this game , have confidence in the line as far as pass blocking is concerned , but were worried a bit about run blocking . Kosier and Colombo are better run blockers in our line.

Free is atleast an improvement over Flozell in run blocking.

Good point. Our run blocking has been absolutely terrible.

I wonder how much time is spent on it in practice. I imagine they fear injuries considering we are cursed in that department.

happy with Brewster. He showed a lot last night. He still looks like a Guard (Larry Allen size). Young also looked pretty good. If anybody should be worried that would be Alex Barron making the roster.

What about Holland? I don't think I heard his named called for anything, for Olinemen, that usually means they weren't flagged or didn't get beat.

I saw some interviews with Brewster last week that only showed his face. When I saw his whole body in uniform last night, I was surprised at how BIG he is! He's as big as a house!!
