Morris Claiborne is 47th on the top 100 free agent list according to the NFL.

He has put together back-to-back productive and healthy seasons with the New York Jets.

I'd like to see him brought back for a 2 year deal at a team friendly rate knowing he can play under Kris Richards.

2 year 12 million/6 million guaranteed.

This signing is under the condition that Byron Jones walks in free agency next off season so we can net a 3rd round comp pick for him in exchange. Claiborne would be a nice option to have available this year and next. He has gotten over the injury bug.

I don't see why he wouldn't get a better deal than that at this point? I also don't see why we would let Byron walk to get a compensation pick of a 3rd round when we invested a 1st rounder in him.

Jones is going to be one of the players Dallas wont be able to afford next off season. He doesn't create any turnovers to justify being kept, in my opinion.

Morris has been under two consecutive 1 year deals around that salary for the last two seasons.

So we don’t think we could draft a better talent than the 47th best FA? And for a lot less money? The past can be very instructive. But only if we learn from it.

Mo Claiborne’s time here offered some important lessons. Bringing him back IMO would imply we didn’t learn anything. But I’m also very aware our General Manager/Owner is a slow learner...so there’s that.

For what ? We have 4 solid CB’s. Draft a young guy in later rounds for next season.

In the event Byron Jones and Anthony Brown won't be on the roster next season, which is likely.

Dallas should be spending next year's money today so that we can net as many comp picks as possible for next off season. Dallas has a ton of free agents next year of starter players that will cash in during free agency.

Lol no... I’d rather forget him and us trading up to get him

Yeah but just because he's been on 1 year deals doesn't mean thats what he will sign that again. I thought he was just on a prove it deal.

And the Cowboys can afford Byron Jones. Don't let them fool you.

I like Claiborne at a team friendly deal. That would give us 3 solid corners. Not sure the connection with letting Jones walk. If he doesnt want top corner money and has another great season I would resign him.

We can afford him now
Later I’m not so sure but there is no reason to spend precious FA dollars on what may be our deepest position
And if someone wants to have a guy if they don’t keep jones you do that in the draft

Do you ever go down nostalgia road and look into the rest of the first round in that draft after Claiborne?

With Barron reinventing himself as a 3-4 LB, this could go down as one of the best runs of defensive players in draft history. After Claiborne, of course.

I loved it when we drafted him...I thought he'd be the next great Lsu CB....I thought he'd be a Everson Walls type...boy was I wrong.
didn't happen....but I still like the guy.
I wouldn't hate it if we brought him back.
don't know if we will but Id be ok with it.

Well...what else are they going to do with the money? They clearly aren't going ton use on free agency so they might as well use it on their own guys. And Byron doesn't strike me as a guy who will get paid and not work hard. He's a prime candidate of the type of guy I want to pay.
