Morris Claiborne is 47th on the top 100 free agent list according to the NFL.
He has put together back-to-back productive and healthy seasons with the New York Jets.
I'd like to see him brought back for a 2 year deal at a team friendly rate knowing he can play under Kris Richards.
2 year 12 million/6 million guaranteed.
This signing is under the condition that Byron Jones walks in free agency next off season so we can net a 3rd round comp pick for him in exchange. Claiborne would be a nice option to have available this year and next. He has gotten over the injury bug.
Jerry brought old man Witten back.
Why not ClaiBURNED???
Let the trend continue.
Championship.
He may get extendedWell...what else are they going to do with the money? They clearly aren't going ton use on free agency so they might as well use it on their own guys. And Byron doesn't strike me as a guy who will get paid and not work hard. He's a prime candidate of the type of guy I want to pay.
ExactlyI don’t unfairly hate Claiborne like a lot of people here, but we have many more pressing needs other than CB.
not the CB for this scheme.http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap30...-nfl-free-agents-of-2019-leveon-bell-new-no-1

Ouch, seeing that list is like a swift kick in the nadsDo you ever go down nostalgia road and look into the rest of the first round in that draft after Claiborne?
1 6 DAL Morris Claiborne DB LSU College Stats
1 7 TAM Mark Barron DB Alabama College Stats
1 9 CAR Luke Kuechly LB Boston Col. College Stats
1 10 BUF Stephon Gilmore DB South Carolina College Stats
1 11 KAN Dontari Poe DT Memphis College Stats
1 12 PHI Fletcher Cox DT Mississippi St. College Stats
1 14 STL Michael Brockers DT LSU College Stats
1 15 SEA Bruce Irvin DE
1 17 CIN Dre Kirkpatrick
1 18 SD Melvin Ingram
1 21 NE Chandler Jones
1 25 NE Dont'a Hightower
1 26 HOU Whitney Mercilus
1 28 GB Nick Perry
1 29 MIN Harrison Smith
With Barron reinventing himself as a 3-4 LB, this could go down as one of the best runs of defensive players in draft history. After Claiborne, of course.
Not only has that ship sailed, it’s crew went on a mutiny and burned it to a crisp. That ship already sailed.
Absolutely none!http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap30...-nfl-free-agents-of-2019-leveon-bell-new-no-1

Same. He's a good player, but there's just no need for him.I don’t unfairly hate Claiborne like a lot of people here, but we have many more pressing needs other than CB.
If he was on a prove it deal and is available, did he prove it on a bad team?Yeah but just because he's been on 1 year deals doesn't mean thats what he will sign that again. I thought he was just on a prove it deal.
And the Cowboys can afford Byron Jones. Don't let them fool you.
It has nothing to do with the position, just the bizarre choice of loser at that position.Corner is the last position we need
If he is a good player, the Jets have cap space in gross amounts. They are willing to let him go. So that good player thing might be a stretch.Same. He's a good player, but there's just no need for him.
