By far that was the best team we have played this season. It is impossible for me to be too down about the loss because that was a very good team across the field. We matched them all day long and could have won if fortune had smiled on Cundiff's FG attempt.

I give everyone their due if they are frustrated. I'm frustrated too, but part of me is a bit elated. I saw a good team out there today standing toe to toe with one of the 2 best teams I've watched all year. Gives me some hope that when injuries and rookie jitters are through this team could make a mark.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not happy. At the same time I saw enough to feel optimistic. There are a lot of areas to improve on. We're a lot closer than I expected coming into this year.

Wow..I wasnt expecting this, Hos

The most telling point of this season IMO was the Eagles game when Parcells had to tell Payton to go with a deep pass to get back into the game instead of playing not to lose

Plasying not to lose has cost us 4 games decided by 13 points--all in agonizing fashion

Happy we played well and competed in a loss

The years of failure have really diminished our expectations and aspirations

God I miss the Jimmy Johnson/ Norv Turner

If Denver had Bell in there or ran Dayne more they would have crucified us. We do not defend the edge well against the run.

I shudder to think what Tiki Barber and Larry Johnson will do to us when the OCs get a look at the game film.

Agreed.

I really did not expect the D to be this good...I thought they may do well at the end of the season but they have done much better, much earlier then I expected.

I will also say this...until Fujita gets completely with the program we were better with Al even if Al did not make big plays...I have seen Fujita be in the wrong place the last few games and it has resulted in a play.

So..we get him on the right page...get Henry back healthy and our D will improve even more IMO.

Not happy about the loss....but it is showing we are a better team then many would think....and it should also bolster our chances at winning the NFC East IMO...because if we can play that well vs Denver (even with our mistakes) then we should be able to do better vs the giants and skins.

So I don't like the loss...but I can take a little solace from the way the team played and the improvements they have made this year.

I normally hate to look back and play what ifs...but I have to wonder what if Flo had not gotten injured...but that is water under the bridge now.

Freudian slip.

You may miss JJ and Norv but they miss the no salary cap days and the Herschel trade.

Too many people think "big plays" equals good football. I disagree with that. Good football means doing your assignment. Al Singleton never failed to do his assignment.

If we had a healthy Dat and Henry I think we totally shut down their running game.

I think we played really well for a dinged up young team.

I do want some better results. I'd like to see Parcells play to win instead of play to lose but I realize why he's doing it. If he simply turns these kids loose they'll rely solely on physical ability. Football is a metnal game too and these kids are learning how to read the game.

I'm not that upset.

Let me see Denver beat Pittsburgh or Indianapolis then I'll be impressed. They also got a gift INT from Drew Brees in week 2 to beat SD. I think those three teams are better than Denver, records not withstanding. Dallas is a pretty good team and Plummer made some mistakes against them today. Those other three teams are more complete than Dallas. Let me see him do it in the AFC playoffs and then I'll believe in Denver.

I agree with you this is a young but talented team which will get better. Its frustrating to lose on a missed field goal but that is how teams learn.

I just got in from visiting my sister and glanced at the threads, I honestly don't understand some of the fans on this forum, after 7 or 8 years of piss poor teams we finally are building a powerful team. That some people can't understand that to come from where we were to where this team is headed isn't going to happen over night.

I just have to stay away from here for a day or so because of all the chicken little stuff that goes on hear when we lose.

I love this thread.

Frankly, we are doing better at this point than almost anyone(including myself) thought we would this year. This is still a young team and we all knew we would go through growing pains.

We played very, very well against a very, very good team, and had things gone differently in one or two areas, that game was ours.

Feel bad everyone, but not too bad. This game wasn't a make or break for this team.

(Don't forget that Carolina lost to us in a close one back in 2003 - use that for inspriation).

Denvers not that good. certainly not the second best team in the league.

Denver better get ready for a quick playoff exit. The Colts will rip them a new one again this year.

I agree. Lord knows we are all frustrated at another hard loss, but the truth is, Dallas is a good team. In fact, these Cowboys are better than we probably imagined.

I think Denver is also a very good team. They have to prove they can get past the Colts, the way the Colts have to prove they can get past the Pats.

But today, Dallas could of/should of/would of beat Denver.

I feel this team is alot closer than I ever dreamed.

After today......I have no doubt we can play with any team in the NFL.

This team earned a high mark on their Benchmark Exam.

Denver isn't a world beater and I don't expect a whole lot from them. But they play smart football. They are a very similar team to us. We have an edge on defense, but they have an edge on OLine (in the running game at least).

I think we should have won the game. That's frustrating.

I really didn't see horrible play.

I saw some questionable play calling and a some bad plays. Every player makes bad plays. I didn't see us exploited or exposed. If anything a lot of questions got answered as to how good this defense can be.

Cowboys went toe to toe with Denver (possibly the best team in nfl) for an entire 60 min. just that the ball bounced denvers way quite a few times today, that is all (Int return for TD, Newman drop, missed FG, them winning the coin toss in OT). But they did not outplay us or overpower us for the win. close games like that go the way the ball bounces.

Makes the chance for home field position in playoffs a little less likely, but i have no question that this team can make the playoffs and compete in the playoffs.

And aside from the loss and feeling that we should have won if not for cundiff missing, that game was a thriller, great football game, both teams played like it was a playoff game. im sure Parcells is proud of his team after this kind of showing.

Denver is a Super Bowl contender. We are a playoff contender. That is why we lost. Right now they are just a better team. Give BP the next FA and draft to make some big changes on the offense and I KNOW we will be a Super Bow contender instead of a playoff contender.

Just remember the Denver team we almost beat tonite could be the team that goes to the Super Bowl for the AFC. We came so close to beating a daym good team.

Remember this. Last year we were close in game with good teams but we lost. This year we have been close in games with some good teams and won.

Next year I really believe is the year we will be almost unbeatable. We are almost there.

Best part is the changes that need to made can be made next year. I know it might sound weird but I am so lookin forward to FA and the draft to see how BP is gonna do the last needed changes to this team to get us #6.

I really believe this team will win #6 next year. We are very very close.

I am proud of how close we played a Super Bowl contender today and how we came so close to beating them. There is no shame in todays loss.

My only compaint is the OL cuz I truly believe they cost us todays game.

Getting Henry and hopefully Crayton back for the Gmen is going to be huge.

I am not totally disappointed with today. I expected to lose worse. I hated losing it to Dayne of all people, but whatever.

If we had Henry and Crayton today, i think it would have been different.

As fustrating as the game was Dallas is still a young upcoming team. I liken them to the Bengals, trash a few years back finally got a coach who's rebuilding them right. The only real thing I think Bill likes is the Defense. He is dealing the best he can with the offense (OL Sucks without Flozel) But this Team has MONKEY on its back. It can not close out a game neither on defense or offense an unitl that monkey is lifted every team we play just has to hang around long enough for us to blow it. This year We are what we Are, 10-6 9-7 8-8, its all the same. Next year we could really be Dangerously Good...
