That's a pretty strong statement considering we've all seen first hand what terrible drafts and terrible draft picks look like look like.
I've been over this a million times.
Great coaches somehow tend to have great drafts. Yet, GM's in this league have great drafts and bad drafts and it just so happens to coincide with who the coach is at the time.
Scott Pioli sure was a genius in New England and then went to Kansas City and sure didn't draft well there. May have had to do with Todd Haley and Romeo Crennel being his coaches instead of Belichick.
Jerry looked like a smart guy when we had Jimmy, then an idiot during the Switzer, Gailey and Campo eras, then suddenly a deep roster with Parcells only to have a barren roster under Wade and now a fairly deep roster.
Just like Carl Peterson was a genius GM that coincided with Marty Schottenheimer, then was passe when Gunther Cunningham as the HC and eventually was a genius again under Dick Vermeil only to be an outdated GM who couldn't draft no more when Herm Edwards became the HC.
Our issues are on defense. In particular, getting interceptions. Funny how that isn't a problem with Brandon Carr, Morris Claiborne or Barry Church now that they are on different teams. But no matter who we bring in we still cannot get turnovers under Rod Marinelli.
After a while, you can't blame the talent on the field when you change up the talent and the old talent goes to different teams and suddenly starts to produce.
