Completely random as they pop into my head

- Grier should be the backup.

- Dowdle and Davis are an interesting battle for that 3rd RB spot.

- Smith seems to be settling in at LG. He still has his mistakes but he can be so dominant at times. The more reps he gets (leave him at LG you schmucks), the better he's going to get and give us a nice OG combo with Martin.

- I've ripped Hill but there's no question he's playing well. Now he'll never be that dominant, interior wrecker but if we are going with the body rotation method at DT, he sure seems to be finding his spot. The question will be can he continually put forth the effort needed game in and game out, play to play, series to series.

- Tolbert clearly has some skill but he's not ready to be a big contributor yet. I am beating the hell out of this, but they have a WR issue and are just ignoring it thinking they can get by for 4-6 games with, I guess, a bunch of double tight end stuff, etc. I guess we'll see if their gamble will pay off.

- Ball just isn't that good. Like WR, I have no idea what they are doing depth wise at OT right now. My fear is they try to shift Tyler Smith to OT if one of the starters gets hurt and I think that would be a mistake.

- Wright just struggles with the ball in the air. Any talk of him being much better than Joseph is laughable. That's not an endorsement of Joseph, mind you. It's just reality with Wright. But then again, we are talking about a 4th or 5th or even 6th CB, so not exactly a huge issue for the season.

- Still too many penalties and that's a coaching thing. But I do like that the coaches have seemingly instilled a desire to be more physical. Both the OL and DL has played tough in these first two games. Now granted, it's a mixture of backups versus backups in many cases, but still, being able to just line up and take a punch and give a punch is important. The 49ers manhandled us last year with a better OL and DL. We are going to see that twice this year with Philly having loaded offensive and defensive lines.

We dont have a WR issue buddy. When Tolbert gets in there with Dak everything will be just fine.

Last night was the first time I can remember our backups looking even remotely competent, so I will take that as a positive. The OL did a pretty decent job all night. The receivers got open. The receivers made tough yards after the catch in several cases. The RB's moved the pile even when there was no hole. For once, they just looked motivated. It's been a long time coming.

I agree. It's been awhile since our backups looked really good in preseason games.

Right now, I'm thinking Houston should get more playing time than Tolbert. They are both rookies, but Houston has taken the bull by the horns and Tolbert hasn't. But this is just me thinking out loud.

If Wright ever locates the ball (he atleast turns his head) he will be nice. He's still better than Joseph currently.

The Wright/Joseph issues are more of a long term concern than a short term one. Both were drafted to eventually replace Brown and Lewis. If they cant, we are probably spending another high pick at CB soon. Bland has looked strong, so maybe he can factor in there and save us some resources

Not a bad comparison. Byrin broke out year 3. I could see Wright doing the same
Actually year 4. Year 2 and 3 he played FS. He probably would have been a good CB year 2 if we left him there. He had strong 1st half of his rookie year playing CB before we moved him out of necessity.

If Wright turns into 80% of Jones, Ill take it. Jones was a good CB

Agree with every single point!
PS: You should really get rid of that Rowdy Avatar, it destroys your street cred ! lol

It’s not a good comparison. Jones was a better athlete and had a better skill set. He also was yo-yo’d between positions which is why it took him longer to develop. Wright has no such excuse.

He’s a JAG.

We just don’t have any dynamic players at WR besides Lamb and now Turpin. The other guys are just possession WR’s IMO.

I totally agree with you about Tyler. Leave him at LG and keep him there for 10 years.

Ball just doesn’t have upper body strength to play LT yet. His arms are like sticks.

It's not a good look when year two and both Joseph and Wright look meh to bad.
Joseph was a boom bust pick and we aren't seeing much to say they hit on him, yet.
Wright I'm going to think they got confused and thought they were in the 7th round.

Both Jospeh and Wright were over drafted.

Feel same about Tolbert.

I really wanted KOR over Joseph AND Leo Chenal instead of Tolbert.

My fear is they try to shift Tyler Smith to OT if one of the starters gets hurt and I think that would be a mistake.
That just isn't going to happen. Why would the Cowboys put a rookie with limited snaps at OT out there in a real game?

I don't see it that way. He quite simply does not possess Jo's mirroring skills. I think Wright gets cut.
