Thoughts on Mazi Smith thus far?

Look. If Mazi was more polished he'd have been a top 10 pick. He was available because he lacks technique. He was rated so high because of size, strength, agility, and potential. He's already the best young DT we have. Hankins might be better today but Mazi should only get better and hopefully shouldn't take more than a year to really be about equal to him.

Strength? He looked almost as mismatched as Jaylin Smith did against the blocking sled.

I guess in hindsight we should have all seen that Mazi was not just going to step in and dominate. But I have a feeling that Zack Martin will start kicking down and start teaching this kid on what he's doing wrong and techniques he needs to work on.

Hope he works out, for obvious reasons, but also for the future of the Dallas Cowboys. If he busts I could see the Jones' boys never wanting to invest highly in the position again.
