First it sucks to lose Overshown, but that is apart of this game. Next man up and hope Overshown has a speedy recovery. Is it time to sign a veteran?

Defense

-I know many are already calling Mazi a bust, it's way too early to make that assessment. Most of us on the draft thread, thought Mazi was more of a day 2 prospect who needed development. Michigan asked him to just take on blockers and not rush the passer. He gets in trouble with being so slow after the snap and tends to play too high at times, these issues are correctable, but development takes time.
-Sam Williams with a nice sack, but once again 15 yard penalty. Land had a sack, don't think they can hid him onto the ps.
-Not sure who they keep out of Gallimore/Golston/Bohanna-none of the three have stood out.
-I don't know what to think of Jabril Cox, not that physical at the point of attack, slow reacting. Think Bell is better in that Kearse type of role, especially against the run.
-Whole secondary really struggled, Thomas with a terrible penalty that ultimately led to a TD. Scott continues to struggle and is not even guaranteed a roster spot any longer. Actually thought Joseph was the best last night, although he stills grabs way too much. Backup DB is a need.

Special Teams

-Go figure the special teams had a terrible night and it wasn't our place kicker. Gave up a big punt return and had a punt blocked.
- Other than FG kicker, I'm not sweating the special teams per Bones, as he is simply one of the better SP coaches
in the NFL, imo. he's experimenting and preparing certain guys for roles come reg season., and what better time and way to test than in the preseason ?
Just hope there's another option than Rico who whiff the block en route to safety points. Most of these guys playing preseason special teams won't even be on the 53 roster.

DEFENSE ?
- Agree with Mazz
- Cox really isn’t showing me anything special for one once considered a 2nd rd pick draft value - has he ceiling top out ?
or he has not played on field enuff per game experience ?

- Watch out for the Dorace Armstrong situation, rumors persist it is a contract dispute brewing behind-the-scenes, it's a reason why there's been no update reported on DA's supposed "injury". He's a FA next year, but could team choose to trade him before the season ?

- Sam Williams' flag was result of blocker pushing him into QB’s legs I thought. Sam has great disengage skills, and speed to power mode. Must play in control of his emotions.
- Mazzi needs key developmental time. Be Patient Cowboys Nation.
- Scott is getting baptism by fire experience, watch he absorbs the now struggles but never lose confidence and rebound
as he gains experience. Joseph plays better in slot, should be dime guy and minimal exposure will limit his mistakes. Bigger key is special teams.
- Despite bone head flag, safety Juanyeh Thomas is making a case vs Markis Bell, active and more impact as a coverage FS than box-safety Bell, who makes tackles at line, but he loses containment on edge runs on occasion.
Which of the two, has the higher ceiling ? Can't see both making the team.

I dunno how that DT unit will go. Jr. Fehoko will likely be a red shirt game ay inactive.
Ghoston will make club, he gets high tackles for a DT, and he shows up on pass rush pressure than Neville /Quinton - One of two Gallimore and Bohanna club will try to get on practice squad.

Did hear that with Armstrong, but he does have some value.
