Tolbert is far more physical then Gallup will ever be, Lamb has gotten better in that area, but still waits on passes. This is one of the reasons why they wanted to sign OBJ if he was healthy.
Totally disagree with that. Especially since Gallup is far established, well seasoned and experienced than Tolbert.
And i don't see Tolbert physically overpowering CBs more so out-manuevering them.

Jerry was interested in signing OBJ because we had a deficiency at WR, old aging Hilton, Washington failure via cut, a pedestrian Noah Brown
and a Gallup that clearly was not even close to being in previous form. Jerry was in a win now mode, but OBJ's knee was clearly in a worse rehab
state than even Gallup.

Not crazy about any of our RB's after Polly.

I do like Deuce, but only as a space back. They tried him as a full timer. Didn't work, as expected.

I really just cannot see what you guys see in Dowdle. Looks like a PSer to me. What am I missing? He's not particularly quick to the hole. Not fast. Not powerful. All I saw was him picking up yards when the holes were wide.

I don't hate the kid at all, just don't see an NFL back.
Huh ? ... Tried him as a full timer ?

Good post. I usually like to challenge your assessments but you are right on with your assessments of the team. Scott Jr. Is my most disappointing player of the preseason. The Cowboys traded future assets for the player and he gets beat like a drum in practice and the games. Supposedly Jordan Lewis is close to being activated so.I think the Cowboys might run the secondary back again with the addition of Gilmore instead of Brown.
Lack of lateral agility. Watch for it, and you'll see it is the big issue that derails most DB's. Must be able to turn.

I never did get why we traded up for Scott. He was never that good of a prospect. Reminds me of Reggie Robinson.

The screeching and 'over the top' accolades made me want to punch a hole through my new TV. Probably an unfavorable opinion but I'm having a hard time watching and enjoying games, of any sport, with most of these women play by play announcers. Listening to Doris Burke do NBA games makes me never want to watch again. Call me old school but give me announcers who actually played the game that they're announcing. On the plus side, I've gotten really good at using the mute button, streaming the radio broadcast and adjusting the timing so what I'm watching flows perfectly with the radio stream. :muttley::facepalm:
I don't like female announcers, and I don't like male cheerleaders. Biased I am.

I think the Achilles heel of D. Quinn is his evaluation of cornerbacks. Fans need to remember that Diggs was drafted a year before Quinn was hired. Joseph, Wright and now Scott is gonna get him kicked out of the draft room.

Gallup does do a good job of high pointing the football in certain situations like the red zone and deep routes, but in the other routes he never fights for the football. We saw last season, when he ran a route and rarely would attack the football which led to several interceptions in which he could at least broken up the pass. Noah Brown was probably the only one who consistently did this. OBJ excels in this trait.

Heard from Dallas and National Media types last year that they really need that Dez type of receiver who attacks the football in the air, that this offense doesn't have a true X receiver. Gallup is more of a Y, where Lamb is my of a Z (Slot).

Yeah. Trades will happen next week.
Neither Joseph nor Wright couldn't do the job last season when called upon. Muku was used more as a nickel/slot. Don't see much difference in these 3 from last season. Scott probably the worse out of this group right now, actually think Butler is the better corner. Butler? Another undrafted fa which isn't good.

Butler is not covering better WRs at at time and late stage in the game that Scott Jr. was covering earlier.

Drafting players goes thru Wil McClay,.. when it's said and done, the buck stops with him.

He got a few carries (five) ....a few carries makes it full time ?
He go the sort of carries a bell cow type back gets. No, I wasn't counting.

I love Deuce. However, he needs the ball in space to be effective. I think he'll have a nice career w/ us, just as long as they don't try to make him a 20 carry a game type.

I would take our top 5 corners over any other in the league. Diggs, Gilmore, Bland, Lewis, and Isreal are as good a group as they come. Watch for Anthony Brown as a midseason pickup.

After suffering a Achilles Tendon injury and no camp to see where he is with that kind of rehab and recovery ?
Nope i would not.
