Oops.

Wilson will play so bad that they will have a mid-game trade where White comes back to the Jets.

Yeah.....that's it......that's the ticket........

Similar to Dallas, you don’t want to face the Jets defense in 3rd and longs. Their zone pass defense is basically death to opposing offenses. I think they allow a 25 QBR from opposing QBs over the past season. How the Cowboys manage 1st & 2nd downs will determine how well they can string together scoring drives.

I believe that what we should expect, a ton of running and short completions. They are going to try to make him more of a game manager. Wilson has the arm to beat us down the field, but our rush and his poor decision making might take that away.
I guess that you have seen Wilson more than I have. He seems like a less talented Carson Wentz to me. I would not let him throw. He would get the Rush treatment from me if I was the Jets.

Another NY team that I get watch the majority of the time. This will be a much more challenging game, even with the injury to Aaron Rodgers:

Offense

-Saleh their HC started his career as an intern under Vic Fangio, yes that former Denver HC who figured out how to stop the Cowboy offense a few years ago. This type of defense has given Dak and the offense fits. Play high safeties, rarely blitz and force QB's to throw into tight windows. Dolphins, Eagles, 49ers all play a variation of this exact scheme and they are all on our schedule this season.

-The 49er and the Jets have similar personnel, except 49ers have an elite Edge, where the Jets have an elite, young corner. Jets front doesn't have an elite pass rusher, but he has a ton of 1st rd talent at the position. J. Johnson, Will McDonald both were 1st rd picks the last two seasons. Carl Lawson has dealt with some injuries. Q. Williams is their star in the middle. Many believe he is better then Dexter Lawrence and could potential become a game wrecker. Their linebackers are excellent in space.

-Since the Jets do not blitz too often and like to play a ton of high safety looks, the Cowboys have to be successful running the football in light boxes. They keep everything in front of them so Dak has to take what is given and do not force passes. It will be ok to punt the football in this game as it probably will look real ugly at times.

Defense

-Jets killed the Bills on the ground, they have a whole stable of elite backs, Cook, Hall, Carter, Abandikanda all potentially have success running the football. Stopping the run is paramount this week, especially now with Zach Wilson.

-Zach Wilson flashes at times, but also is prone to making bone head decisions. Does have a strong arm and can run a little to pick up a 1st down. Take away his #1 target in Garrett Wilson and force him to throw to the other receivers he hasn't had much time to work with. Jets are going to try to manage the game, so expect a ton of runs, screens and easy short passes. Their receiving core is far better then what we have faced against the Giants, but we still should have the advantage.

-Their OL has a ton of high draft picks, but they struggle as a unit. They can be beaten off the edges, better inside.

Special Teams

-They have our former kicker, Greg Zuerline who is much better as a Jet then he was with the Cowboys, pretty consistent and can make long kicks.
-Jets have a dangerous punt return as we just saw they won a game with a return this week.
I agree there's a lot of people here that are way underrating the way they can stick to the run be patient and just keep coming at you all game that was our Achilles heel last year it was our Achilles heel in the first quarter against the giants and you're underestimating how that can protect the quarterback sloppy the game up kill the clock and make this a very low scoring tough to win game..

This will be our first real test against a team willing to run the ball game you remember last year when we had three or four games in a row where they just decided they were gonna run the ball and not stop the teams that stopped like the giants did I don't know what they were thinking but they're gonna test our run defense this week if they don't they have the dumbest coaches on the planet..

I would run the ball 30-35 times.. I mean all in different ways not just up the middle and trying to be hard core but if they move the ball on the ground in many different ways and come at you from all sides this is gonna be a long day for our defense given it's only game two and running around trying to chase chickens for 60 minutes is gonna be tough to do... Of course they're gonna have to play action pass and whatnot they can't not pass all game but if they dirty this game up the way they play defense this is gonna be a long day.. fans were high on clouds with that 4....his isn't gonna be one of those games...
Predicting Cowboys win in a nail biter until the end.....

There is a reason the Jets gave up on Wilson and brought Rodgers in. Make Wilson make mistakes and get inside his own head, get the win.

Yeah they're good and they're more than just that they got you on all three levels you're not gonna be able to run on them pass on them trick them I mean it's gonna be a long day if they decide to run the ball all day and play defense and special teams and just stick with it keep it ugly..

This will be a great test to see if anything changed in the offseason with our run defense and if we can move the ball on offense against a stout defense....

Yeah but here's the after effects of the Rogers acquisition they brought in a lot of good players and filled a lot of holes given the fact they thought they were gonna have Aaron Rodgers and going through and all offseason Zach Wilson standing behind Aaron Rodgers and all the practices and the preseason games and listening and watching this is not gonna be the train wreck that Zach Wilson was last year I'm not saying he's gonna be great but don't think that the way they handle the offseason to help Rogers isn't gonna also help Zach Wilson...

When it comes down to it the Jets only scored 16 points in regulation. I think we can score more than that if our D is playing well. We have a pretty good offense. The jets won because of turnovers and the nearly lost anyway. A special teams td sealed it. It's not like Wilson had to get on the field. If he does they would have most likely punted back to the Bills. What if's? I believe the Cowboys have a better overall team.

But, what I believe does not matter. If we can put up some points on the Jets D, we will have some answers about our offense. It's going to be a good test for our O.

I much prefer jets to prop plans when traveling long distances. Oh ... wait ... you meant the team.

They had a tough loss in the first round of the playoffs to Las Vegas, but I think they have a chance to do better in the coming season. Oh .. wait ... you meant the FOOTBALL team.

Geez ... you really need to be more specific in your questions. :)

I agree with your assessment of the Jets. I also think they will run at the Cowboys defense using their interior OL to beat the Cowboys DTs. This will be a problem for Dallas when Hankins is take a breather and Gallimore and Golston are in the game. But don't be surprised if they move the pocket and get Wilson throwing short passes on the move. We know there will be a lot of misdirection.

I don't think Q Williams is better than Dexter Lawrence, but he is just as good. I think Martin did a great job on Lawrence. My concern is Williams will not line up over Martin, he will line up over C and LG, especially when they think the Cowboys will be throwing the football. It will be interesting to see how Tyler Smith does, if he plays, against a DT like Williams.

IMO, it will be the offense that needs to step up for Dallas. They need to score early and get out in front of the Jets. The Jets will try to keep this a close game and steal it at the end. Dallas needs to play mistake free and not give them more chances like the Bills did.

He tries to be like Aaron Rodgers at times making off balanced throws cause of his arm strength, but that gets him in trouble.

They will be expecting run early and will key on that to get us into 3rd and long

We need to come out passing against run defense and go no huddle early to put them on back foot

I'm on sold on either on run defense or rushing offense at this point. It will be a good challenge on both sides of the football.

This challenge IMO is similar to facing the 2021 SF team in the playoffs 2 years ago with Garrapolo. Wilson is clearly the less experienced and more erratic of the 2, but the team will do everything they can to NOT put the game in his hands. But you're facing a stout and complete defense overall. You'll have to play a relatively clean game and not give them any short fields. I agree this is a good test to see where we are...

Don't underestimate their defense, they are real good, maybe just a notch below the 49ers. Excellent challenge for our offense this week.

Yes, getting ahead early could wreck their game plan. Cannot give their offense any short fields, either, make them earn every yard.

I bet that is why the drafted him at 2. The Rodgers comparison. I am about to watch Dan Orlosky break him down. I bet he will say Wilson can do some things against our defense.

Even with how great our defense played the other night, I still have doubts about our run defense. NY was running the ball pretty effectively to start that game but due to the snowball effect of points off turnovers they had to abandon it. Nobody will argue that the Jets D will be a top 5 unit this year, so they should be able to keep it tight enough on their end to allow them to stick with the run throughout the game. On the flip side, if we can force some turnovers from Wilson then it could get out of hand and we should handle them easily.
I do agree with this.

But the Jets do not pose the vertical threat that a Darren Waller does.

Garrett Wilson is a stud WR, but I believe Diggs / Gilmore can contain him enough. He’s had 3 career 100 yard games.

This is a game where a guy like Lazard seems to go off.

Our advantage is Lamb in the slot. Their slot corner isn’t great and is the mismatch we need to exploit them.
