So Seattle controls its own destiny for the #1 seed?

We get the #1 seed with a win, If Stl and SF win and GB and Det tie.

Do we make strategy decisions based on the remote possibility of a tie?

Well we know GB and Det will get flexed to SNF. AZ and Seattle both have west coast games, so our game will be over before the rest even start.
So what you are saying is we have to play the starters?
BTW, I thought Cinci/PBG got flexed?
Lets just say I am torn. I understand the logic of sitting them, but don't like the message it sends. I recall the wishy-washy way Phillips handled it in 2007.

I get the rules but it stinks that we won in Seattle but will have to go there again to make the Super Bowl. Meanwhile Green Bay who lost to Seattle who we beat grabs the 2 seed.
Just peculiar how it played out. The moral is though if you're going to lose games do it outside your conference!
we went and took care of our own business, and that's great
but we have gotten totally screwed by 5 one possession games involving the Cardinals, Lions and Packers, any ONE of which goes the other way and we are playing for a bye on Sunday
AZ wins vs KC (stolen by refs) and STL
DET wins vs MIN and CHI
GB LOSING to BUF, which forces a 3 way tie at 12-4, instead of a head to head with Seattle which we would obviously win
NOT TO MENTION, there is no way we can play Arizona in the first or second round, as it's impossible for them to get the 2 or the 6. Instead, the winner of the atrocious NFC South will get to host AZ and their 4th string QB, while we get Stafford and Megatron or even Aaron Rodgers and Co.
everything outside of our control has gone wrong, basically
Yep. That's where that terrible loss at home to Washington comes back to bite us in the arse.
