Yes I know it's an up and down season with a lot of concerns on defense.
But I would like to throw out some thanks to Jake Ferguson and Brock Hoffman for giving us some good old school football to watch.

These guys are what football is all about they don't make a ton of money.
They play for the game they leave it all on the field they give you 110% every game.

It kind of looks like Jake Ferguson might have a career similar to Jay novacek minus the Super bowls of course.
Brock Hoffman is an unsung hero the guy steps in to play center he's not athletically gifted but has arguably more heart than anyone on the team and refuses to give in and does a great job.

When you see a guy fight to get a fumble back like he did against Denver when blue fumbled it makes you feel like there's still guys out there that love to play football.

These are the kind of guys the front office needs to Target to change our culture.

They are certainly a pleasure to watch as opposed to the big money guys who dropped the ball against division rivals.
Go backwards at the end of the game when we need 10 yd to give our kicker an opportunity.
And get butt hurt because we trade a player and come up with every excuse not to play.

Get some of these type of throwback players on defense and we could fix this mess along with a coach of course

Amen! Well said, brother! Totally agree.

:hammer::clap:

More like throw up cowboys- this team makes me sick to my stomach
For the most part we know what we're getting into when we start the season we have 30 years of training as fans.

So when I start getting sick to my stomach I concentrate on guys like Hoffman and Ferguson and they become the Rolaids that get me through

I don't understand why this front office doesn't analyze character deeper before they draft players.

Jerry certainly has the resources to do it.
He could pay a team to do a deep dive into every draft picks character and seriously put them under the microscope.

There is no possible way that this happens because we have had way too many head cases and character problems.

There is no measurement for heart at the combine that has to be analyzed by someone with experience that has heart and knows what it is.

I appreciate your positivity- sadly I have lost mine at this point at least for this season

I hear you brother I don't have much positivity for the season.

So knowing that I have no control other than the remote control for my television set.

I try to find some little rays of sunshine in this dark gloomy mess.

These young guys just give me something to look forward to watching their progress while I tried to blot out the misery around them.

They are football players more than athletes. Sometimes people get to caught up in measurables and combine results but forget you still need the ability to play football.
Yes we have seen it before there are some guys that are freakishly athletic but it just does not translate to the football field.

And then there are some other guys that have very marginal athletic skills but a heart the size of a lion that wills them to success because they try so much harder.

These are the type of guys that we need on defense guys with heart and character a will to compete and win

Yep I like Fergie he catches everything and can move the chains and is a threat in the redzone, he's a good pick as a second rounder..like hoffman too, he has a place on this roster after beebe returns

It seems like Fergie gets to the sticks has a nose for the first down marker.
I remember in times past guys coming up just short of the marker all the time.

And Hoffman I believe would be starting on some teams he is a gutsy player with no quit in him

Eh, Hoffman is a try-hard spare. Good on him for making the most of his limited ability, but he's not that good a player. And Fergy is a better version of that. Still not sure what happened to the guy from 2023.

I think guys like Tyler Smith and Bland have great character - Tyler has just been hurt this year - and still have a lot of ability (Smith more than Bland). Kenny Clark is new but he's that guy also.

I hear you though... this team under Jerry will always favor the SPARQ athlete first, because the wildcatter is always favoring upside. But if you just go on attitude, etc., you get the Sanborns who have that but are too slow to be any good.

This past draft was a little different, as Booker and Eze weren't combine stars, but highly productive and have the right mindset.

Comparing Jake Ferguson to Jay Novacek is absolutely insane. Posting here is a privilege, not a right.
You're right it is a privilege so get a clue I said he could have a career similar to Jay minus the Super bowls.

So if you did your research you would know that novacek played 11 years had 422 receptions and 30 touchdowns
Jake Ferguson has played four years so far has 200 receptions and 13 touchdowns.

So do the projection if Ferguson plays 7 more years.

Jake Ferguson recently signed a 4 year 52 million dollar contract extension with 30 million of it guaranteed.

He does it for the love of the game.
Pretty soon he'll have an expensive girlfriend that's world known, she'll be the focus of all the games and Jerry will make money off it

I think so far he's giving us pretty darn good value.
And I didn't see any big problem with his extension just seem like it happened.
Amazing what can happen when you're willing to accept a fair deal

She was a basketball player for Miami.
But if you give Jerry some time I'm sure he could figure out a way to market her into something that would make him some money.
