Two stud's in the same backfield started long long ago with Hall of Famers to be Red "The Galloping Ghost" Grange and Bronko "NWA World Champion" Nagurski with the Bears, yep, run run and run. Big Jim Brown had a Big10 hurdlers/100 champ Bobby Mitchell beside him for five seasons,of course the classic.....Larry Csonka & Mercury Morris.

Zeke isn;t what I would call a classic power back, but he runs hard inside, obviously Pollard has some serious jets so, do what teams used to used two back sets like those mentioned above and....

Use two back sets and run the ball, toss in some CeeDee Lamb and roll with it.

Should have been Herschel Walke and Tony Dorsett, Bo Jackson and Marcus Allen.

Not sure why some people make this some competition. We have best of both worlds, and appear to be able design for them.

This stupid scenario has played out so many times in Cowboys lore I've lost count. Hambrick over Emmitt, Barber over Julius, Felix over Barber, Murray over Felix, Randle over Murray and now this.. It seems we never learn.. Having TWO good backs is a GOOD thing, not a problem that needs to be solved. I will go to my grave believing that the biggest screwup in 2007 was switching up our running back rotation going into that playoff game against the Giants.. Wade and Co. caved to the noise and started Barber over Julius.. Barber had over 100 yards in the first half and looked great.. But he emptied the tank and got like 20 yards in the second half. We knew going in that Barber was a guy who couldn't handle more than 12-15 carries.. Asking any more of him than that was a mistake. I'm not saying that applies to Pollard.. but people don't understand the MONUMENTAL difference between coming into the game as the number one target of the opposing defense as opposing coming in as the guy the opposing defense spent five minutes on during the week leading up to the game. We need to keep doing what we're doing with these guys.. Ignore the outside noise and play winning football using the combination to the fullest.

Why not go with what has always worked, two back sets.

Terry Metcalf was a great kick returner, the cards found ways to get him out is space with ball in hand, burly Jim Otis did the banging inside. Old idea that works like a charm.

As long as it’s closer to 5-7 million instead of 15 million.

Cowboys & Zeke need to start thinking about a paycut pretty soon. Maybe not this season or next but after that all bets are off.

Well this aint the 70's man .. the league doesn't want teams running the ball like the old days. Back then when teams had a small back like Metcalf, Joe Washington, James Brooks, Greg Pruitt et al, they schemed up wide plays that made receivers make seal blocks to allow the backs to get to the edge and then do their thing in the open field. These days it seems readily accepted that receivers don't block so the only chance of getting outside is if a defender falls down or takes a bad angle.. I do question why we don't use Pollard and/or Zeke out of the slot more. Both are good receivers and can outrun linebackers.. But I guess as long as the offensive line is needing to be patched up we have to have one guy in keeping Dak from getting clobbered.

Obviously talking about changing things just like Jackson did last night. What QB's run like that, yep.....different.

i start both Emmett and Pollard, Pollard a receiver/runner, we can afford to have Pollard on the bench.

The game plan was a great use of the RBs.

I assume you mean Zeke and Pollard.. They did have great success using Pollard on the jet sweeps yesterday.. His quickness coupled with the defense always flowing to whatever direction Zeke goes is a deadly combination. I think the rationale before was that the third receiver was more of a threat than Pollard.. Not sure I agree but I believe that was the thinking. If Pollard continues to average 9-10 yards per touch they may have to re-evaluate. I still don't think he can do that week in and week out but if he can we're in for a fun season.

Everyone thinks the second RB is better
They don’t get that they don’t always do the same things
