Pollard at Memphis

4.4 guy which is cooking for a RB.

He has to be out there, none of this sharing carries. Stick him in the slot get him out in space. Both backs together.

I know for a fact if they sit Zeke down he will pout and be a distraction, get both out there.

How do you know this? I have seen nothing from Zeke in his time in Dallas to indicate he is anything but a team guy. They both need to be on the field.. There will be games when we need what Zeke does more and games when we need more of what Pollard does.. I think both guys are okay with it.. I'd love to know why you think different.

He criticized Urban Myers if you recall, been in trouble with the law 3/4 times, admitted to drugs and loving to get drunk and he has this "Feed Me" thing he does. Just can't see him being cool on the bench as a part timer. Just my experience with people which is how I made my living.

Bet it bugs him nobody wants him hawking their products. What company would want to be associated with him?

Stud runner, great player but he ain't dating my daughter.

Pollard is ranked #1 in the NFL after two games in average yards per carry for an RB with 7.7 yards, minimum 10 carries.

Obviously, I don't expect him to maintain that average but it's a pretty impressive start.

Unexpected but welcomed breakout year for Tony Pollard?

More great news: Pollard doesn't become a free agent until the end of the 2022 season.

Two stud's in the same backfield started long long ago with Hall of Famers to be Red "The Galloping Ghost" Grange and Bronko "NWA World Champion" Nagurski with the Bears, yep, run run and run. Big Jim Brown had a Big10 hurdlers/100 champ Bobby Mitchell beside him for five seasons,of course the classic.....Larry Csonka & Mercury Morris.

Zeke isn;t what I would call a classic power back, but he runs hard inside, obviously Pollard has some serious jets so, do what teams used to used two back sets like those mentioned above and....

Jim Taylor & Paul Hornung
Rick Casares & Willie Galimore
Matt Snell & Emerson Boozer
Keith Lincoln & Paul Lowe
Hewitt Dixon & Clem Daneils

Army once had Mr. Inside Doc Blanchard a big bully with 10.0 speed. and Mr.Outside Glenn Davis a sprinter at 9.6 both won a Heisman.

Use two back sets and run the ball, toss in some CeeDee Lamb and roll with it.

Should have been Herschel Walke and Tony Dorsett, Bo Jackson and Marcus Allen.

Man I like this but sadly most of our fans don't want a 1..2 punch they want pollard to ball out and get rid of zeke because he makes money and is a name sake lol

Most those fans know nothing about those good old two back days. Why the NFL got away from that...??? Hell the old cross buck, fake to the lead back handoff/toss out to the end sweep, oldest play in football but ya need two backs.

Need both backs!

He criticized Urban Meyer for losing a game in which he only gave his lead back the ball 10 or 11 times. Frankly he SHOULD have been criticized for that. I talk about it all the time.. you simply DO NOT let a team take away your best player just by how they line up. If they put 11 men on the line to stop the run then throw it to him.. Meyer would later admit that Zeke was 100% right by the way.. As for his run ins with the law and drugs and partying in college? Those things are hardly breaking news for a college kid.. I wouldn't do it.. and didn't.. but knew plenty of guys who did.. Plus he appears to have seriously cleaned up all that nonsense as he has matured. The feed me thing is fun.. It gets him going, it gets his teammates going and it gets the fans going .... I like guys putting a little fun back into the game.. Lord knows the NFL tries really hard to suck the fun out of it..

As for endorsements.. we all know why that is.. He has been accused of domestic violence.. which is a real modern day bugaboo. All the other stuff.. the drugs, the run ins with the law.. nobody cares about.. but that chick knew what she was doing when she accused him of hitting her.. She even went so far as to put it in a text what she would do if he didn't give her the money she had demanded. It is what it is.. I don't think he's starving..

You don't PUBLICALLY say anything about a guy like Urban Myers as a college kid, that was plain stupid.

The guy simply has way too many reasons not to want him around, not a fan of how he acted over his $$$$$ either. This....college kids ya know....just doesn't work.

I do see a guy who would be a problem if he didn't get his carries, and we don't need this problem.

He grew up a star athlete, all his life it's been....the great Ezekial Elliott, he's not going to be cool with riding a bench, trust me. It would be....trade me....guarantee it.

There are guys who are star athletes but understand perfectly the team concept and are willing to do whatever they are asked to help the team win. Then there are guys who are about "me" and will pout even after a win if they didn't get enough touches/playing time. I have had teammates who fell into both categories. Fortunately MOST of the guys I played with were of the former category. Come to think of it of all the guys I played with I can only think of one who fell into the latter. I don't know which group Zeke falls into but the pride he takes in his blocking and the amount of work he puts into it and in honing his skills in the offseason leads me to believe he's more of a team guy than you're giving him credit for. He is usually the first one to celebrate with Pollard when Pollard makes a big play.. I just don't see a selfish player there. The contract thing was completely understandable.. The Cowboys had already shown that they would run a back into the ground and discard him like dirty toilet paper when he was used up. Zeke and his agent were smart in what they did.. It's not Zeke's fault that the Cowboys completely shifted their offensive philosophy after he signed his big deal. I can't hate on a man for gittin his money..

I totally disagree, if Zeke wasn't getting his carries for a few weeks while Pollard was starring it will not be....whatever is best for my team is ok with me....at all. He will want out of Dallas if he's not the top RB. I'd bet on it that is how confident I am about this.

Zeke is a great athlete, but his decision making sucks, I do question his intellect. Paying a RB big $$$$, are you kidding me? First thing is unless he is all bought in watch his weight, He won't be all bought in coming off a bench.

Guys like Zeke have always been DA MAN, they know nothing else. Noway he's cool watching another cat take his place.

The tv cameras zeroing in on Zeke everytime Pollard does something, the media....so you're ok with.....

Tell us about the leather helmets, grandpa!

Using both backs is what most have been calling for but not at the same time more than a few plays a game. While Zeke is great in pass protection he isn’t a lead blocker. So when you have them both on the field you are losing a pre-snap option for the defense to focus on elsewhere and going to see more and more men in the box. Sure you can fake it to one or run him out into the flat the opposite way to create a diversion but that mostly is taking a player out of the play that wasn’t going to make the tackle any way. Zeke is our #1 and Pollard is #1a just like it should be. Using both just makes us better and keeps both fresh and running hard.

Zeke averaged 4.0 YPC last year. He is averaging 3.9 YPC so far this year. I want him to be like he used to be as much as anyone but we need to face reality people.

the post to which you are replying is doing the opposite of making it a competition
Yes indeed. I should have been more clear.
In other posts and threads...it has been a debate, a demand even...that Pollard starts. A controversy if you will. Silliness.

I just wanted to address that in my comment.
Thank you for allowing me to clarify that.

Judging his performance by last year?

4.0 pretty good considering.

Give him a healthy offense for just a bit. What the heck, why not.

LMAO.. You are hilarious.. Pollard has one good game and now you're Nostradamus.. I have stated OVER AND OVER that the offense Moore is running is better suited for Pollard than it is for Zeke.. In fact I have said repeatedly that if we're going to run this style of offense we should trade Zeke and start Pollard. Your unwillingness to acknowledge that I've said this over and over won't change that reality.

By the way .. were you also "right" in the 7 or 8 games last year that Pollard averaged 3 yards per carry or less? Asking for a friend..

it’s unfolding before your eyes and you can’t handle it.
