Thursday Games

I disagree, Thursday night is a great night to watch an NCAA game. Pretty good game last night, and it looks like like the Canes are back. It has been a long time since they had a QB like Harris. The kid has a very impressive arm, looks like a cross between Culpepper and Romo the way he flicks it around.

I'm guessing that you're an University of Miami at Florida fan. :)

I would never pay for it. Don't think it is worth the money. The only team I would ever pay to see is Dallas and I only miss 1 to 3 of their games per year and I go to a sports bar or stream the game. It is a colossal waste of money IMO.

I think its the best thing ever invented for TV. I love the NFL and when Dallas isnt on, I enjoy watching other games, especially if there's a cruddy game on the local channels but several good match ups on Sunday Ticket.

Then there's the convenience of being able to watch all the games from my couch on my hdtv.

It's annoying that the price tag goes up almost every yr, but its still a bargain IMO.

And most of the time there is a cuddy game you get stuck with on local. :laugh2:

So, how to you propose to bring this to pass, Hostile? Create an Internet petition to submit to the NFL at the end of this season?

I so agree with this thread. I was just thinking about it the other day. I would love to see a game on Thursday or any other night during the week including Monday. Tuesday thru Sat. seems to drag before Sunday gets here....urgh.

I think it's time for the NFL to have games every Thursday just like Monday, except for the last week of the season. More national games equals revenue. Besides I want to see people stop looking to take away the Thanksgiving games from the Cowboys and Lions. If the NFL wanted to they could have every team get a Thursday game.

I'm spoiled. I want more NFL dominating more nights of the week.

i hate primetime football--pro football should be played during the day.

If your a true football and not just a Cowboy fan is it not a waste of money.

I agree with Doomsday101 & dbair1967

My idea of a heavenly week.

Thursday night football. (2 games? I don't hate it.)

College football Saturday.

2 early games Sunday.

2 late games Sunday.

Sunday Night Football.

Monday Night Football. (2 games? I don't hate it.)

Not if you enjoy watching the best games every week including the Cowboys when they are not being shown locally.

I would simply prefer to watch the games streamed online. Again, I would only pay to see the Cowboys.

Well, I think the billboard idea is pretty stupid, so I'll pass on that.

Mostly I just think appeal to NFL owners greed. More primetime TV equals more money. More nationally televised games equals more money.

I was listening to The Ticket on Wednesday (via the web). Aikman was interviewed that morning (Dallas time) and did a fine job.

One of the things he mentioned -- he worries some about the NFL overexposing itself. He says the NFL is at its strongest right now, and that if the league isn't careful, it could take a fall.

If they lengthen the season (as they've been talking) and also were to expand the nights of play, it'd be more exposure. Who knows if it'd be too much ....

And who would you propose host the games? I'm like NBC's Sunday night football theme. So they have my vote. But I agree, more nationally broadcasted games please!.

Hostile;2948689 said:
If they did 2 on Thursdays, I think the perfect scenario is every team plays 2 Thursday games. One at home, on on the road. 16 weeks, 2 games per week. They could devise a schedule to make this happen.

YESSS!!! Without a doubt:bow:

Wouldn't really say a fan, but they are one of teams I like to follow since they usually have a lot of NFL prospects.

That's my concern as well.

I still don't understand how we get an advantage by playing on T-day. Yes we get a couple of extra days off but we also have to play on a short week.

Why isn't it an advantage for the other teams that play on Thursdays?

Complete crap IMO

Consider that it's an extremely short week and the visiting team will be traveling on one of the days while the home team is preparing for the game. The home team gets a day for film and two days for practice/walkthroughs. The visiting team gets a day for film, one day for practice/walkthroughs, and one day to travel.

In a normal week this wouldn't be an issue.

I know more then one household where the ticket to watch on Sunday/Monday is bought and paid for by suffering through Big Brother, Survivor, Dancing with the Stars, etc on week nights.

I know my wife has rued the day NFLN became available for 24/7 NFL action.
