Dallas has always been known for good tightens. They're important for being big bodied cushions. Could this be the prime issue for our red zone woes?

As much hate Witten got in his later years, we never really found anyone as reliable as him to replace him.
Jarwin was a flash, but couldnt block, Schultz was kinda similar and wish he stayed but anyway. Schoonmaker isnt exactly off to a great start but hes still a rook.

With this type of offense TE seems pretty important

I thought Fergs played really well yesterday. He’s got some juice in his feet

An underrated "skill" from Witten and something Schultz showed too was finding the soft spot of the zone coverage.

Of course Witten could run the Y option and get open vs Byron Jones with his footwork but being able to read coverage is an underrated trait.

I don't expect the AARP Rookie to grasp it yet and who knows if Ferguson has that ability.

Well said. My hope was Ferguson would be further along than he has shown so far. He looked significantly better as a receiver last year in limited snaps. From a blocking standpoint I think both Ferg & Schoon have played up to par so far. I have a feeling these guys only continue to get better as the year goes on and by Thanksgiving we are talking about the TE situation in a different light.

It's a tough transition to make from college to the NFL, and I think the Kellen Moore offense made it easier for those underneath throws to the TE to open up. On a new team and a new system this year Dalton Schultz is only on pace for 40 catches and a little over 250 yards.....very small sample size so far, but it is with our guys too.
