Tight Ends

I agree with Stephen Jones. Safety is a bigger need that TE or WR. But all 3 are positions of need. Witten retiring is good news for Rico Gathers and Blake Jarwin. Now both have a chance to develop.

I have my fingers crossed that Will Hernandez will fall to Dallas in the 2nd but I doubt it. I may be in the minority but the Cowboys OL additions in free agency remind me of MacKenzy Bernadeau and Nate Livings.

I like Ian Thomas a lot. Don't know if I'd use my 3rd on him, though, as we have more pressing needs.

I think you have to go WR or defense at 50.

TE can wait. If they really think they have some quality players in Jarwin, Gathers and Swaim, then let TE fall to Day 3.

Here is a sleeper I just found

Andrew Vollert(6'-6",240 lbs) TE Weber State,runs a 4.60 forty,

Ian Thomas,Indiana
David Wells,San Diego St

but we might have gotten him last year...Blake Jarwin.

I’m leaning toward Thomas as well because I don’t want to have to trade up for one of these round 2 guys.

I wouldn't be confident in any rookie TE earning a large role this season.
Hence I don't want to see significant resources spent.

Maybe if they see a developmental guy late, to compete with Rico and Jarwin.

Witten has missed one game in his career and they can't keep him off the field. We've got 3 players as our part time #2 TE. Swaim is the starter, with 2 developmental players we like behind him. That's enough. That's more than enough.
