Time for a New WR rotation

We should just forget who are the starters and who is #1,#2,#3 non sense and just play all of them and spread the ball just like the Saints do.

I don't care who starts the game but I would like see more playing time for OTree, Choice, and Felix and little less from RW, and Barber.

I agree to an extent but I want to see Ogletree and Crayton more than RW.

You mean like that 4th quarter drop on the slant?

It happens.. While i was pretty pissed about Roys play last year and earlier in the season he has been making strides the last few games. People are so blinded by their Roy hate they don't see that.

More Ogletree and Choice = 30 points a game. Championship!!!:D

I would really like to see some more empty backfield formations as long as the line can hold a pocket. And I'm talking all 5 WR's not that double TE BS.

Our line can't handle that and protecting Romo always has to be a major priority. I wouldn't mind doing it once in awhile to catch defenses off guard on 1st down but I would do it out of the double TE set with one RB motioning out of the backfield because we can catch the defense in their base package. We should be able to get a slower LB on one of Witten, Bennett, Felix and then it is off to the races.

Agreed, RW is the biggest and strongest reciever on the team. He is getting better week by week. I think Ogletree is at best a slot guy, but then what do you do with Crayton? BTW the best TE in the NFL and the Cowboys real #1 reciever has had a few important drops in the past 2 weeks.

I agree. Witten is getting a pass because fans like to make Roy the scapegoat but Witten these past couple of weeks hasn't been Witten like. He deserves some leeway for how good he's been since coming here but we should expect more from IMO our best offensive option.

I would like to see more 4 receiver sets whether its Hurd out there or Ogletree. I've always been in favor of that. I thought we'd see more when I heard we were going to be more "Romo friendly".

I agree. He's coming along. This past game leaves a lot to be desired but he's coming along. Sure we should expect more out of our #1 option but as soon you can you get it out of your head that Miles is our #1 the quicker fans will get rid of the Roy hate.

I don't remember Hurd in the game when it mattered since Seattle. Hurd was in the Denver game because Roy got hurt.

Roy came back after he got hurt. He even had a catch after he got his ribs caved in.

He was riding the bench on the last drive.

No wonder we moved the ball with such ease without having to drag his lazy *** up the field.

I cant respond do everyone, but this is the dumb thread of the day. Some people wont to replace Roy (whom i dont particularly like) for KO85 or Dez Bryant. What. Roy is a Over paid number 2 but he has about the number of a good number 2 option. 700 yards and 5 TD's with 2 games left and y'all wanna replace him with someone with 5 receptions or a someone who would be a rookie next year.

And the person who started this thread, yeah, we should change our receivers in week 15 after the biggest win in 15 years for this team. Are you serious? Dumb thread of the day.

Roy Williams is not going to be good. Paying him waaaaaay to much but genius Jerruh and his massive ego won't admit to the mistake so we are stuck with him for at least another season or two. Nate Burleson is going to be a free agent and I would much rather have him than Williams but that isn't going to happen.

Dealing in reality I would love to see Ogletree in the slot diminishing time for another contract mistake by Jerruh and that is Crayton.

Good thread , and we saw KO being worked into the game late , you wonder if that was a shot at RW , I think it was.

Roy actually only has 592 yards.

A good #2 WR will put up about 1000 yards so he is far from being a good #2 WR. When you add in his poor efficiency due to the high number of incompletions and drops, you begin to realize that he may not even be an average #2 WR.

He is garbage at this point. Crayton has proven he can put up the exact same numbers as the #2 WR. He put up 697 yards and 7 TDs in 2007 as the #2 WR to TO. The problem we had that year is Hurd was not productive as the #3 WR with only 314 yards.

The sooner we get rid of RW the better, IMO. I don't want to wait another year to see if he'll finally put it all together. If noone could teach him how to run routes yet, it is never going to happen for this guy. I'd rather take the money we are paying him and spend it elsewhere. Maybe he has some trade value with a team dying to get a shot at his potential?

I think a message is being sent.

An even bigger message will be sent if Crayton starts the next game and Ogletree comes in at the #3 WR.

RW can dress in his civilian clothes and buy a ticket to watch the game from the stands if he wants to fly in for the game.

1. Austin
2. Ogletree/Williams
3. Crayton/Hurd

That's the rotation as I see it. The reason why Crayton and Hurd are 3, is because I think they do VERY well in the slot.

Your rotation is close. Although I still give Roy the nod(Williams/Ogletree). A slight nod. Roy is flat out disappointing on some plays... but I am waiting for him get past this.

That catch by Ogletree was REALLY impressive. It's the first time the guy has made a play to impress me...and he looked real fast out there, fluid and smooth. For the first time, I think he's going to be a real good player for us.

We have Romo, Austin and Ogletree - some of our best players on this team. All undrafted.

Amazing.

Let me clarify, 700 and 5 TD's will likely be his season numbers after the next 2 games. and secondly he is the 2nd receiver but obviously the third option. and only 3 teams have a second option that will get 1000 yards, SD, IND and NE. SD and IND the second option is the tightend. JAson Witten has a shot at 1000, needs about 160 yards which is obviously possible with 2 games left. So basically your saying that 700 yards and 5 TD's is Terrible for someone who a third option. Which is stupid as hell.

Is he over paid? Yes, is he a number 1? NO. Fortunately for us we dont need him to be the number 1. ANd honestly, if anything i would replace crayton with KO, sooner than replacing Roy with KO.

Crayton was already giving us that level of production so there is no improvement at the #2 spot by bringing in RW. He also returns punts and can play the slot WR position. He is also a much more reliable target to have in the game as the #3 option given Roy's questionable hands. So I want Crayton in the game over RW - is that simple enough for you to understand.

As for the #3 WR position - I'd put that as open to competition. I want Ogletree to get a bunch of snaps to see if he can give us something more than RW does. The way he gets out of his cuts so quickly makes him a very valuable target to use against teams that like to blitz and play man coverage as RW has proven time and time again that he can't beat man coverage.

As for the economics, that can be settled in the offseason. The best option is probably just to cut him.

As for the picks, they are gone forever and hopefully Jerry has learned his lesson again about trading multiple high picks for mediocre underachieving WRs and then giving them gargantuan contracts. Most of them aren't worth it. The ones that are worth it will not be traded. Is that simple enough for you to understand?

He made one great catch all season in limited action of course and guys are ready to crown him a starter. The overreaction on this site is ridiculous. It usually comes after losses but its still coming after a win. I like what i've seen from the guy but we don't have to rush him in. Goodness. The passing game hasn't been the problem. When guys make comments like this i'm pretty sure it has fantasy football implications.

Roy's drops have cost us games -- and have almost cost us on a few other occasions.

Take last night...Roy dropped one third down pass that we overcame by going for it on 4th down.

He dropped another third down pass that put the Saints back in the game.
