Today is the perfect day for Red to pull out a trick play or two against a disciple of Parcell who is not afraid to do so himself.
I cannot recall the last time Red tried a surprise onside kick, reverse pass etc. Since we are in a game that most don't believe we can win then it's time to try to CREATE some big plays for ourselves. What else has he got to lose?

The play I like to see happen is a flanker sweep to the right to Harris (he's done this) but a option pass down the field to ...... Escobar! If TE is double covered then just make it a sweep or else let Escobar and his 6'6 frame play jump ball.

What would be your play?

I don't know about trick plays, but it'd be a nice day to try and get Escobar involved, that's for sure. They'll be keying in on Dez and Murray.

I wouldnt mind a trick play or two but you give up way too much field position if the onside is not successful and we cant afford that against the Saints.

We have found a good formula with the run and until their D proves they can stop it I would stick with it.

Great idea! Then when the play doesn't work we will come here after the game and bash the play calling.

Agreed, giving the ball to Breeze on a short field sounds like a recipe for disaster rather than smart coaching.

a solid run game sets up perfectly for a Flee Flicker.....let them bite on the run and bingo.....catch TWILL or Harris deep

I don't know, I would rather punch them in the mouth than try to be cute, To much can go wrong being cute. Murray needs to hold on to the ball.
I'd be scared to death to see him try and pitch it back to Romo.

Hand the ball off until the Saints prove they can stop it. That is all. They allow 5.8 yards a carry.
Let this O line beat them down.

Of course if their D can't stop the run and we can limit Romo to under 30 attempts that'll be ideal. But how many actually think our D can stop their O consistently? I don't like making Romo attempt 50 passes. That's usually a recipe for diasater.
At times you take a chance to give us some moment . JJ and Parcell had always done this. I am not saying calling a trick play for sake of a trick play but you can catch an aggressive defense off guard.

We beat the Saints in 2009 by limiting the time that Brees had on the field. I would love an ugly game plan in this one. Heavy, heavy does of running the ball early and often.

Their defense is ranked 24th I think. They could suddenly turn it on but they haven't proven to be that aggressive so far. Play them straight up, control the clock and Breeze isn't a threat either.

I understand. But if this D show that it can't stop Brewze regardless like last year (hope not!) then it would not matter much. Last year after the game I recall this board pretty much said that we shouldn't have punted given how poorly our d was playing. Might as well give our O extra down. That's a little extreme.

How about an afternoon of Harris and Beasley in the flats and crossing patterns all day from T Williams and Dez Bryant. Then sneak out Dunbar on some screens.

Tricks are for kids... or when your regular script isn't working. I hope we run the ball down their throats until they choke on it.

I would like to see Harris more involved.
