I was all for Miles Austin going to New York to get us a higher pick in the draft.

In retrospect that would have been horrible. Miles is amazing and has completely outshined my expectations.

My question though is where are you Sam Hurd who was ahead of Miles Austin for 2-3 years, and why were you ahead of him. Surely Hurd too must have shown something...

I completely wrote him off because he was an undrafted WR, and I was tired of seeing so many undrafted wide receivers on our roster. That said him and hurd have been on the roster for a minute... generally if you're no good you're replaced sooner than this.

Look at our linebackers.

Other than Bobby Carpenter which backup linebacker has been with us for over three years?

I think the only other place you see this to some extent on the offensive and defensive lines.

Because you dont see it in our secondary, in our quarterback group, running back corps.

Pass some this way. I thought he'd be one the bubble to make the team last year. He was always injured and hadn't really done much.

To say I'm happy I was wrong is an understatement. :laugh1:

He is playing like a Superstar.

Yes he is. But contrary to what one other poster has said, he is still isn't ahead of Fitz, Andre, Moss, Wayne & etc.

If the G-men had got Austin.........well they would still have Eli throwing it to him.

It was actually the Jets that were considering signing him.

As appealing as a 2nd round pick was, I didn't want to lose him. He's really stepped up as everyone had hoped.

One of the few times I do not have to eat crow. I have been on the Miles bandwagon for sometime.

There is only one thing worse than Dallas losing out on a talent and that is when Dallas does the developing only to see another team be the benefactor.

I was thrilled when NY passed on Miles.

Sam Hurd is a sold guy. He doesn't have the same juice as Austin, but he would be dependable if given the chance. There just aren't enough balls to go around right now.

Hurd seemed better suited to a small, supporting role type of position when TO was around drawing attention on the field. He can beat teams' 3rd corners.

There was a window for one of those guys to jump through and become more than a small role player, and Austin beat Hurd through when the window opened this season.

Now Hurd has to contend with a guy who seems to have much more athletic upside, Ogletree.

"Eating crow" is really starting to lose its touch with there being a crow eating festival every week. Everyone is either calling for or serving themselves or someone else a big helping of crow.

You can pass some this way for sure cause I was right on that same boat for letting him go for a 2nd rounder. I had no idea he'd produce the way he has thus far and I'm happy to admit I was completely wrong on him.

i think this is the number one reason people are putting crow up on the table left and right. if they were right, they get an ego boost. if they were left, they are happy.

Sign me up for the crow eating as well. All he needed was a chance, and to develop some confidence. He got his chance and never looked back. I love it.

I want to see more of Sam Hurd as well though. The guy gets open, has great hands, and has decent leaping ability. It's not really a fair shot to have him line up against Champ twice with the game on the line back in Den.

Ogletree is even seeing more playing time than him. Although I like what Ogletree brings as well, as we need that type of receiver.

I guess I still have a mini man-crush on Hurd from what we hear every training camp. I'd like for him to have success on the playing field when it matters though.

I think Ogletree getting playing time shows that we are getting prepared to let Sam walk.

He is to good to not see any playing time and he wont get it here in Dallas.

He'll go to some team and be their #3 from day 1 and most likely will be a starter in this league before long.
