Yes, it's hard to blame Callahan, who has had success as a play-caller, when the playbook belongs to Garrett.

He will be the next scapegoat when it comes to the end of the season when we go 8-8 once again. They will say its because of the dreadful playcalling made by Callahan. Although us die hard fans knows the truth. Its not Callahan's playbook at all. Its Garrett. Thus the root of the problem is Garrett. However, Garrett won't get canned. It will probably be Callahan who will be the next scapegoat to make sure that Garrrett stays on as coach.

The attitude sure has changed for many Cowboy fans.

Only a few months ago most celebrated the fact Garrett wouldn't be calling plays any more.

I'm not saying blame Callahan, but I know I have read or heard reports of NFL types saying that Callahan is not a good play caller, and that he is pass happy.

I hear this a lot but I'm not convinced by it. I'll guarantee you that people knew what the 90's Cowboys were doing... backward and forward... they just couldn't stop it. The offense we run requires precision. I think the better the offensive line gets, and the better T Williams becomes, the better the offense will perform. We need a running back too, who is starter quality and can stay on the field. Murray is starter quality but he can't stay healthy.

When will that happen though? When Romo is as old as Methuselah? We have always blamed the Oline. We have always blamed the players. We have always blamed the lack of a running game. Its time we face the music and tell it as it is. We need to get rid of Garrett's offensive philosophy, period. Its whats ruining this offense and has done so for so many years since he was OC.

callahan always leaves a job in disarray and with people he worked with hating him. oakland, nebraska, and now it's starting with demarco here. i can't stand him and always hated the hire. his work on the oline has been abysmal.

Yes. Callahan was going to prove to cowboys fans what a bad play caller Garrett is. And show him how to find a running game too. So there.

Wait, what happened. Why does Callahan suck now. Must still be Garrett fault somehow, what other answer could there be.

Totally agree with you. I remember hearing players complain about him before we hired him. I really don't know why we didn't vet him more carefully before we decided to pick him up as oline coach. Maybe its because Garrett didn't get a vetting process as well and was entitled to his coaching position. Thus, the reason why we might have picked Callahan without thoroughly vetting him.

I'm thinking that Callahan was the perfect person for which Garrett selected. Watch at the end of the season they dumping Callahan because of shoddy playcalling. Then Jerry will be announcing that Garrett will take back the playcalling once again. Oh boy, the drama will never end in Dallas.

You are crazy and could not be further from the truth. Sometimes I wonder what your agendas are.

Wade Wilson is the next OC to take the heat off Garrett in 2014 and then Wes Phillips in 2015. But to the surprise of everyone, we have an excellent offense in 2015 and Jason finally gets the axe.

Wes Phillips is our new head coach in 2016, the circle has come back around as he hires his old man to re-tool the defense for him. Ahh, I love second chances....................

We'll see after this season if we don't reach the playoffs. I'm thinking Callahan will be the fall guy for Garrett.

What this team needs, imho, is an OC who might be hired free of Garrett's influence and free to install his own brand of offense. That's not to say JG couldn't be retained as HC, however. It can't, or at least, shouldn't be done immediately. It'd best be done during the next offseason at the earliest. Then again, consider this -- would it really be wise to begin anew with another offense from scratch before our current defensive problems have even been resolved? Drastic changes are usually most effectively done in due time without embarking on too much all at once. Seems to me it's best to resolve one complex issue before taking on another.
