Dallas had the 19th best defense last year with nearly the same players. How are they suddenly top 5?
It’s a very young defense going into the second year under Quinn. The young players should be improved and more comfortable in year two. Plus, talent was added. I don’t know if they’ll be top 5 (maybe), but they definitely should be better.

We had the other rookie O-Linemen we drafted that was looking good but the shoulder looks to be a problem. I think he is going to give it a go. They needed to do more to gather a starting O-Line. And have some depth. Ball didn’t look as good as we thought he would.
Not "we"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you feel the talent added equaled what was put on the field last year?

We would need Bo, Sammy, and Galley to all play at a very high level, Mua would have to be a very good FS, and we'd have to find two LB's not named Micah that are at least good.

Yes. All we lost was Gregory and I wanted him gone 2 years ago. I was NOT a fan. I think Sam Williams will be a better overall player and obviously more dependable. Barr was also a good addition. I really think the interior of our defense will be much improved. We’re pretty set at LBer and in the secondary. If the DLine plays like I think/hope they will, the D will be better.

Here's an IF ONLY for ya.

If only we'd have thrown that 2nd round pick in 21 at Alim McNeil instead of making it yet another throwaway pick taking a thug w/ attitude issues.

It wasn't long ago when I was afraid to see the defense come on the field. The roles feel reversed heading into this season.

Yeah and I'm fine with it, shrug, can we get the Ravens type play? Doesn't seem like Cowboys M.O. but might work.

This team will go as far as the defense takes us in my opinion.

I don't believe this will be some kind of great defense like others seem to think, but probably a top 10 unit, which is more than good enough most years.

I think other parts of the team and players will be exposed this season and be seen by the majority as weak links. We'll have the defense, but we'll be weak in other very important areas and it will ultimately be the reason this team doesn't do anything meaningful.

I still only see at most 9 wins.
If the team had Tony Romo at QB from circa 2014 what do you think the team record would be?

We have no idea if everything will work out, but we are finally attempting to build a viable D. I'm still not convinced we have a starting NT, the position that is the cog that makes a good D go, but at least we're trying.

Williams may very well be better than Gregory, but expecting him to become that year one may not be fully realistic. Why do you feel the interior of the D will be much improved?

Yeah, same question here. I do like Galley and Osa, but I'm just not sure we have the dawgs to dominate up front. Need to make this priority and quit passing up the chances to build a championship type D. Don't waste Micah by attempting to fill the DLine w/ slugs in the 5th.
