If the team had Tony Romo at QB from circa 2014 what do you think the team record would be?
I'd say 2014 version of Romo lead Cowboys would be good for at least 11 wins with this current roster.

Then we'd just get beat in the Wild Card game.

Williams may very well be better than Gregory, but expecting him to become that year one may not be fully realistic. Why do you feel the interior of the D will be much improved?
Simple. Experience and a year in the off-season program. Again, we’re young there with a lot of room for growth. We’ve also got some depth there. Plus, Gallimore missed 11 games last year to an elbow injury. He’s going to be good. We’ll have to see if I’m right.

Development does happen.

In a vacuum. But are we saying it will happen to no one else?

Top 5 means you’ve now built a defense superior to The Rams, the Bucs, New Orleans, The Broncos… teams littered with the greatest defensive players in the world.

I get being psyched for your favorite team, but Green Bay had an outstanding defense last year, drafted 2 of the top defensive players in the first round, and they were only 9th. Great defenses have stars all over the place. Dallas has… 1.5? Diggs if you ignore his coverage woes and only go with the picks which’ll be improbable to replicate? Lawrence hasn’t been a top 10 pass rusher since his sacks disappeared.

That’s assuming everyone else in the league didn’t get the same experience and year in the offseason program. Everyone has Dallas’s benefits, and a lot of them have better talent

But we’re not talking about every other team. We’re talking about Dallas and why their defense will be better.

Bout the same.
In 2014 Romo played at an MVP level throughout the whole season and received MVP votes. This is higher than any season by Prescott so that's worth at least 2 games for me.

How do you think the Eagles will get on? I think they are genuine Superbowl contenders from the NFC. I can't have Tampa Bay at all. The Packers will be there or thereabouts, the Rams will be relying on not getting too many injuries as their depth behind the stars will struggle in my view. 49ers look strong but a lot depends on what happens at QB for them. Eagles look to have a well balanced and deep roster and people are naive to write them off because of Hurts who is also better than most people think. He's not elite but he's not a bum.

This season is very simple. It's 3 things...

1. Can the OL be decent especially with pass protection? Dak must be kept clean.
2. Can the WR group produce enough until Gallup and Washington are healthy?
3. Can we get the best version of Big Mike and will he do more to make sure Moore doesn't suck?

That's it. If Dallas can get these 3 things the season is going to be a good one.

On defense, I don’t think Eagles will crack the top 10. I’d be happy with 12th or 13th. I think many people here are underestimating just how good the top nfl defenses are

On one hand the Cowboys def tried to cheap out on the OL.
And Stephen Jones is pretty unlikable.

On the other they were proven right when they could sign Jason Peters within a week of Tyron getting injured.
The athletic just ran a 10000-season simulation and gave Dallas the 3rd highest cumulative win totals ((against a top 10 difficulty schedule)).

It is hard to reconcile the facts Dallas Cowboys fans are crying so much I want to get all stabby with the fact this team is actually really young and really good according to Vegas, computers and anyone with an actual brain.
The type of teams that overachieve and exceed expectations.
Good QB, very good defense, yet constant whining and complaints.

So I'm all for getting real but it might hurt your feelings if I did so.

But you have a favourable schedule and from memory only play Rodgers in terms of facing the top QBs in the league

If you don’t count Dak. Whether or not you feel he’s a “top” guy, he can put up yards on Philly, whichll hurt our D ranking.

Wentz may not be great, but he’ll do better than Heinecke. I think Jones will be benched in NYG, and they’ll improve there. So all 4 of those divisional games should put up more of a fight than last year, and Dallas hopefully less

The said "same players"....

The Cowboys offense does not have the same players as last year.
So you think losing cooper, ,williams, collins, and wilson while adding Tyler, Peters, Ferguson, Turpin, etc. drops the offense from 1st to worst?
