dont care that he's a rookie still learning LG. We need our best 5 on the field. and I think he may be better than Free right now. Plus he brings an Erik Williams type of nasty to the run game. Hope this coaching staff is forward thinking and abides by their "competition at every position" during the year.

Free is the least of the olives problem
They are not working well together and changing to a rookie who hasn't played a down at the position in this league is not gonna help that
Much like all those wanting Martin moved to tackle last year, the staff knows what these guys do best
Even most scouting reports before the draft thought Collins would be a better guard than tackle
Change just for the sake of change is not going to help the oline
More than most other positions, good olives work as a unit, not individuals

So, we do this now
Green is eligible to return after wk 6, not saying that is going to happen

Why move him, when all of his time has been spent at LG? Just gonna throw him to the wolf's? Green is the future at RT....Been said straight from those in charge since day 1

I don't get it

I'm very concerned with how Free is playing right now. I'm not ready to jump ship on him yet, but its a hair trigger.

Collins has never played RT at any point in his career. Throwing him into that position in the middle of his rookie season would be a disaster.
Moving Leary to RT, while just as dumb, would make more sense then Collins there.

Olives huh? I kid....your post is a solid one, even though your spelling isn't!

he was getting overpowered in the Falcons game per Broaddass at OG when pass blocking. He needs some wreightroom time.

The Cowboys do put the five best players on the field. So far, that hasn't been Collins and it definitely hasn't been Collins at RT. (for a reason)

Lets not make our problems worse because you're impatient.

I'm not sure what the Cowboys should do with Collins but the fact that someone with his level of talent isn't playing is absolutely disgusting.

I Know Martin is a great OG, but wouldn't it make sense to have him play RT and move Collins inside to OG and have a line of Smith, Leary, Fred, Collins, Martin ?

Sorry, but even before he got hurt (again), Green was not good and did not show he was starting material (yet). Simply, Collins is one of our top 5 right now. He should play.

Collins has never played right tackle in his life. Very, very different than playing left guard.

Maybe. But you might be creating two holes instead of one.

I normally agree with your posts, but Free has really struggled. I think I counted 4 run plays that failed due solely to Free in the Saints game.

Obviously Collins probably wouldn't be great at RT immediately, but I think he would be a far superior run blocker as compared to Free. With Romo out, I'm not too concerned if Collins blew and assignment or two in pass blocking.

I'm not saying they should just throw him in there immediately, but having him practice at RT might be a good idea. I have a feeling that Brown would be a disaster if he had to play. On the plays where he comes in as an extra blocker, he looks completely disinterested.

So, playing in the SEC and not giving up a sack or blown assignment....

He was injured & they knew, just thought they'd see if he could handle it... Green is twice the RT as Collins
