Time to trade CD Lamb

So what is our alternative we pay guys a king's Ransom they go into career protect mode.
And they don't step up when we need to get over a hump we continue to lose close games because our star players getting paid the most money continue to come up small.
The draft picks could help build some kind of a defense you're just not going to win paying a few a fortune and forgetting about one side of the ball
I agree you can't forget about the defensive side of the ball, I just have no confidence in them hitting on any of those picks.

I think the time has come as we watch this season go into the abyss to trade CD lamb.

If we could get two number one picks and a number two get rid of his huge salary and rebuild the team.

As long as George Pickens continues to shine he is 2 years younger than CD and I don't think we're going to be able to pay both of them.
So do like we did with Micah trade him a few years early at the height of his value rebuild the team with guys on rookie contracts.

The writing is kind of on the wall we can't beat bad teams so take this season for what it is and stockpile draft picks plan for the future.
The guys we are paying the most money are not stepping up and making a difference when it counts we saw it in the Philadelphia game with CD and the drops we saw it at the end of yesterday's game with an opportunity to win.
Our most expensive player couldn't get us over the top.

Jerry got the ball rolling with Micah now it's time to purge this team of expensive players that don't make a difference when it matters
That's ridiculous. What they need to do is sign Pickens and have Lamb, Pickens, and Flournoy locked up.

In that case, you dont let pickins walk either. He and Dak seem to work awful good together.
You cant pay a QB 60 million and 2 WRs 30 million each and expect to win a SB

If we sign Pickens we will score a lot of points but continue to have a piss poor defense and lose critical games because contrary to popular opinion, defense still travels and wins championships

I don't have a lot of confidence in them hitting on all the pics either kind of why I like to see them trade somebody like CD and get two first and a second so they can have some wiggle room to screw up.
The disparity between a rookie contract and what they pay these guys is so great that I truly believe you have to get these talented players on their rookie contracts and try and win at that point in time because you just can't pay enough of them with the salary cap

But if you traded CD and picked up a Jaylyn Carter Jordan Davis Dexter Lawrence or any combination thereof all of a sudden the defense gets a lot better and everything's a lot easier for everyone. Wide receivers are a dime a dozen especially ones that drop the ball.
Finding giant human beings that can take on the double team create pressure and stop the run are like finding a dinosaur anymore and you need first round draft picks to get them

We couldn't run the ball all game and the passing game couldn't convert any more.....10 points against the Panthers in the entire 2nd half is inexcusable

Pickens and the other receivers are stepping up CD is in protect mode.
Better to trade him before he gets injured and we're paying for nothing it's coming
Detail how he is in protect mode?

And why didn't he operate in protect mode last year when he fought back and played with injury?

No what is truly ridiculous is that we went to Philadelphia and could have won that game and watching CD lamb drop three balls in his hands that is ridiculous.

Paying him 30 some million to do it is an absolute crime and an insult to the fans of this team.

Trade CD for the pics keep pickings he's 2 years younger and work out a deal

The guy flat out hears footsteps I know you've watched enough football to be able to see it.

After that eagles game if he played in my neighborhood he would be sitting on the Storm sewer until the teams were uneven.
That crap don't fly in streetball let alone getting paid 30 some million in the NFL

He has had a case of the dropsies before.

And again, you didn't answer the question. If he's afraid of foot steps and getting hurt why did he play last year with a bum shoulder?

It doesn't make any sense. You have a weird axe to grind with Lamb.

dang almost sounds like they tried to stop the run and to have mvp guy beat them. I missed the last part of the game, how that work out?

Your ignorance is an insult.

I have no ax to grind with lamb .
He needs to catch the ball and make us better get us over the top and beat the eagles.

With the amount of money he's making dropsies don't come into the equation anymore.

This is not high school you are getting paid to do an elite man's job now you need to be that elite man and elevate the team

No it doesnt, contracts can be reworked, cap hits can be spread, nothing makes him untradeable
Yes it does. You can't manipulate dead money hits. You either take them now or you spread them over the next two years but in that scenario you'd have to trade him post June 1, which would be after the 2026 draft. So any picks you got for him would be for 2027.

So for all intents and purposes, unless the Cowboys are willing to eat a crap ton of dead money for next year, they really can't trade him at this deadline for picks in the next draft.

I get it. He made some mistakes in that Eagles game. He also had has some dropsies before.

But if the impetus to trading him is that he's soft and doesn't want to get hurt and plays to protect himself from injury, the fact he gutted it out last year with a bum shoulder would seem to refute that claim.

If you want to say he has a concentration issue that could hurt us, sure. But claiming he got his money and is now just coasting trying to not get hurt doesn't make much sense given the body of evidence here.

You're just too invested to hear the truth

Lamb is a great player.

But good luck finding a team willing to take on his contract on top of giving up multiple picks. The Cowboys need to rebuild, but Lamb needs to be a part of it. I'm more concerned with finding a way to keep both Lamb and Pickens.

The Cowboys need resources to build the defense, but stripping the offense bare of weapons isn't going to lead to more wins.

So far I very much like Pickens athletic strong fearless can make contested catches eye of the tiger wants to get paid.

CD has been paid and is in career protection mode
Pay Pickens, and he'll lay down on you. Not the personality that you pay.
