If the Cowboys were to part ways with MM, which kind of timeframe do you want them to use. Do you want a slow search where search long and hard, while risking losing a top name? Or would it serve us better to make a quick move to get someone in here so he can name his staff and get ready to put his stamp on the team (if Jerry allows!) Please give your thoughts!

he didn't take too long to seek out jimmy.

he has surely thought about this.
i would think he has some sort of "what if" short list.
be decisive.
he knows who he wants.

If you remember Big Mac just fell into the position. He wasn't on Booger's short list or any other list.

Expect the same if Big Mac is not retained.

Booger could wait until the first day of spring training to announce he is hiring a new coach and who is going to stop him?

Jerry Jones cannot attract a “top name”. His only hurry would be sign McCarthy before another team does. The only thing for sure is Jerry will screw it up.

If MM doesn't return, its a college prospect or Jerry finally fulfilling his destiny.
Whoopy Goldberg would probably be my best guess for Jerry.

If Big Mike is not offered a new contract, I want Dallas to use the League permitted rules to interview Ben Johnson and Houston's OC within that time frame. Folks like Vrabel or any other former HC should be interviewed as soon as you check with the candidates who are in the playoffs.

Honestly, its needs to be a thorough search, not the referral from the good ole boy system like we did with MM. Alot of the guys he should be looking at will be playing in the playoffs. I really hope they dont take the retread approach. Its not many left honestly. I dont want Vrabel, I seen enough of his offense in Tennessee. Pete Carroll just popped back up talking about he wants to coach again but I hope we pass on him as well. Outside of that, I see Pederson get fired but want no parts of that. I feel like there are two outcomes, no retreads available either have us breaking our trend of coaches we like to hire and force us to go with a newer more innovative coach or its going to justify them bringing MM back. And I feel like they want to do that anyway so... we ll see
