******* and whining about talent brought in by Parcells.

I feel like I am surrounded by experts, and that some of you should work in the NFL. How else could you be so sure that Rivera wouldn't work out? How he was too old and injury prone. Or how the Tuna completly blew it when he drafted Rodgers, Johnson and Peterman.

Please ppl Parcells and his scouts have seen tons more footage on players he drafts and brings in as free agents than most anyone here.

Give this man some credit. He DOES have an eye for talent. How else do you explain him bringing in Henry when all the so called experts said he was below other db's, like Smoot, Rolle, Lucas ect. this offseason? Even people here were calling for us to sign Rolle or Lucas, Henry but an after thought.

Smoot signed a 6 year 34 million dollar contract Rolle 6yr for 30 million , Lucas 6yr for 36 million. Henry 5 for 25. It would be easy to argue when healthy, he outplayed them all.

How about hitting on JJ in the draft and picking up an extra 1st in the process? Drafting Witten, Crayton, Newman, Ware, Spears, Canty, Barber, James, Burnett, Polite, Peppers, Tyson, Ratliff, the list goes on. (14 players there)

Picking up free agents like, Henry, Glenn, Campbell, Bledsoe. (4)

Trading for Fujita and Keyshawn. (2)

A few players have yet to pan out and may never. Ferguson, Peterman, Rodgers, Henson, and Al Johnson. Maybe a couple will.

Bottom line he hits on players more than he misses. As much as we'd like him to be he isn't God. Realize that not every fa or draft pick will turn out to be a star, or good player for the matter. Doesn't matter how much we pay them or how high they were drafted. I wish ppl would be a little more positive around here. Bill has injected this team with alot of talent, young and old and this team will compete next year and for years to come.

Come free agency and draft time, I think you'll agree

I think we are tired of losing. By the time next years play-offs begin it will be 11 years since our last play-off win! If that's okay with you, GREAT!!!

All of the blame falls in JJ's lap with his poor draft decisions!

So I think there is frustration with continued bad personnel decisions. The Cowboys should have a Director of Player Personnel whose name doesn't include Jones. We need someone with experience. BP is not the one either. He came here with plenty of noted draft blunders under his expansive belt!

Also, a lot of us here have been watching the Cowboy's for 30+ years, so I think I, and others, have the right to vent our frustration. Especially when you look at who we have passed up for not on-the-field-of-play reasons.

Really. If you don't like people giving their opinion (and sometimes bit%$^#) then this isn't the place for you.

In fact, that is the purpose of the board to begin with.

Yeah, too bad that's lost on you.

The only problem I have with Parcells personnel management is his seeming penchant for age over youth: particularly at QB and also illustrated by the signing of Rivera rather than Wahle (who can also play tackle...wouldn't that have come in handy by the way this year??...by the way, I made this argument the day we signed Rivera...)

Big Duane has obviously significantly upgraded our talent, and he has committed to youth on defense...hopefully he does the same on offense this year, and I suspect he probably will...

It is impossible to hit on 100% of all moves....

Most if not all of BP's bad moves have been injury related.

Rogers, Peterman, Rivera come to mind.

Double negative Sarge, he was giving HIS opinion.

Of course, that is just MY opinion.

Getting kinda complicated here.

Whatever.......

I was one who wanted Henry over Smoot, Lucas, etc. so I'll just excuse myself from the conversation. :)

I wanted Lucas, but I was ok with the Henry signing. If he would of stayed healthy, who knows how good our D could have been.

I'm tired of threads talking about how tired people are of other people. On top of that, I'm tired of being tired of threads talking about how tired people are of other people.

I'm just tired. Nap time.

But seriously - Rivera blows.

I'll never understand this logic.

Yes, Parcells and company know more about players than we do. Shouldn't they???

Sorry but when you're paid $5 million per year, you're SUPPOSED to hit more often than miss.

How about hitting on JJ in the draft and picking up an extra 1st in the process? Drafting Witten, Crayton, Newman, Ware, Spears, Canty, Barber, James, Burnett, Polite, Peppers, Tyson, Ratliff, the list goes on. (14 players there)

Ratliff??? Tyson??? Polite???? Who is "Peppers", ya mean Pepper Johnson, Burnett???....you are citing guys who have hardly played as part of his "hit" list.

JJ? Jury out. Lots of talent but jury is still out on this one.

Witten. Solid
TNew Solid.
Crayton good value for where he was selected.
Ware, Spears, should be talented, they were first round picks.
Canty. Solid
Barber. Solid
James. Solid

To my eyes, that's 7 solid picks in three years.

Al Johnson as the 38th pick? 4 guys stuck from the 2003 draft.
2004? ONE starter drafted, Julius. Read that again, ONE starter.
2005. Looks good but let's give it another year before we annoint that draft. Remember the 2002 we were all so excited about?

You cite 4 solid FA pickups, in three years. That's good?

You cite trading Galloway for Key as a good move? Did you happen to see the numbers Galloway put up this season?

He's 25-24. 'Nuff said.

He's 15-17 after the first season, when he went 10-6 with players he inherited.

This is so friggn funny....Your assuming Whale wanted to come here...How do you know he did or didn't heck we could have tried to get a meeting with him only to have his agent tell us he wanted to talk to other teams first so what do you think we should have done? wait? NO we talked to Rivera who at the time had been to X number of PB's hadn't missed a game in years and was a leader in the Locker Room....

Next you want to talk about age I've heard the crap all year and said alll along we have one of the best mixes of youth and veterans in the NFL which has also been said by MANY NFL insiders like John Clayton, the NFL Network and others. You complain about the age of the QB and the same time about not winning so what do you want the best chance to win or throw them all away? If you want a chance to win now you go with the Vet QB if you don't care about winning now then go with Henson or Romo and even then your not sure they will work out. BP is doing with them what teams used to do all the time WAIT until their ready. It's not up to any of us to decide if they are or ever will be ready (of course we have our opinions and give them freeely). I strongly think if Henson or Romo had been ready then we wouldn't have signed Drew B. So if your biggest gripe is Rivera think about the fact I pointed out about whale and do you think we have someone who owns a crystal ball who would have forseen him hurting his back? if it's the age thing look at our ages we have a very good mix of age and youth which a team needs.

good post and this is a reason the (tuna) haters are running the forum now. mob rules.

They're misplacing their anger of the fact that JJ's poor drafts, trades, cap mismanagement and overall mishandling the franchise led us to 5-11, 5-11, 5-11 and a depleted franchise that Tuna is restoring.

When Campo left, Dallas was one of the worst franchises in the NFL from a "pure football" standpoint. It's sad to all of us Cowboy fans :(

It's a sports board???? Multiple personalities with a passion for football, if you do not like different opinions you are on the wrong board.

Not too complicated, as it's evident he means only those that agree with his opinions. Shallowness prevents the possibility of other perspectives.

Thank you sir.

I LOVE when someone classifies me as not being a Cowboy fan because I criticize someone, like Parcells....particularly when the person making the statement hasn't been on this earth as long as I've been rooting for this team.
