Mettenberger certainly has the tools as far as throwing the football is concerned, but I worry about how mentally strong he is. His past at Georgia also would worry me a bit.

Guess the 0 and 10 starting record scared teams off, but lets face it they have had a really weak roster the last few years. Interesting though that they kept Cassel over him although new coaching staff apparently has ties to him.

I think that's a valid concern but I also think that all of the same arguments can be made about Dak. The one thing that Mettenberger does have that Dak does not is experience in the NFL as a starter. He has started 10 games and that's a huge upside IMO. Especially for us.

I imagine he might want to go to a team that he thinks he might have a chance at starter...even if that is unrealistic.
Obviously Denver or SF could be interested but we should waiver dibs over everyone except Cleveland and SD.

Yeah but I think he's subject to waivers and the choice isn't his yet.
