I hear ya. But I watched alot of tape pre-draft and watched their snaps in preseason. Not saying Taco is a bust by any means. But I really think we needed that bend-the-edge, athletic RDE (Watt), not another LDE type (Taco). Just my opinion, and Watt's game today solidified it more.
Taco is much more an RDE than a LDE.

These players are the exception IMO. I watched TJ and saw a guy that can get drove off the ball. He will thrive and be a successful player if he can play in space. His problem to play end is 1) he isn't a powerful enough player as previously mentioned, but 2) he doesn't really have elite quickness. His lack of elite quickness would make him a liability if he had to bang with OLine men all game long.

I think he did have elite combine measurables, if I'm not mistaken

Not IMO in our 4-3. He's not quick twitch and his bend is questionable. But he's a very good run defender and has great length.
He gets off the line fast enough and is starting to put moves to use. He is 10 yard split os impressive and he has very good upfield bust. Enough to be able to line up in an 8 gap if they wanted to align him there
