TJ Yeldon rumor

Hey, I love what Murray did for this offense. But, one thing I always found odd was Murray's running style. He almost seemed lock-kneed. I can say Yeldon, while not a speed demon himself, looks more fluid running (especially in the open field) than Murray did. Like many of us have agreed, Murray lacked that agility and make you miss ability in the open field - so many of his long runs looked like they should've gone to the house. For a guy that ran 4.37 at the combine, he looked more like 4.5 on the field.

OK, ok, ok. Can somebody PLEASE tell me where all this negativity about TJ Yeldon comes from? Prior to his injury-plagued Jr. season, he was WIDELY considered one of the Top RB's in in college football. Other than Gurley (who has injury issues), ALL of these backs have flaws. Yeldon excelled in the arguably the toughest conference in the country since his freshmen year. He is a very smooth runner for his size. His biggest liability (fumbling) can be easily corrected (see Tiki Barber). Behind this line, he could be a star.

Injury plagued seasons are not likely to get better in the NFL

Yeldon ran a 4.61 at the combine.................he aint taking anything to the house in the NFL

Oh my God, if they take him in the first, I'll cry.

I can't imagine that they'd do that.
They could trade down into top 1/3 of the second though. That's be this year's version of what they did with Freddy.
But at 27? Can't see it

I was hoping sometime in the 3rd or not at all, honestly.
Maybe Coleman in the 2nd

I like Yeldon and think he'd do well here. I think he was knicked up last year and Alabama has plenty of other guys to carry the water so his numbers were down. I wouldn't be surprised if he's seen as the 3rd best back in the draft and goes early 2nd or late 1st. I still think we may see a team jump on Coleman before Gordon goes but that's more a personal, crazy surprise scenario thought.

If the Cowboys do get him at least he's likely been vouched for by someone Red supposedly has a good relationship with. Don't judge too soon. I went ape poopy when we picked DeMarco and that turned out well. Also could be I am terrible at knowing what makes a good back.

I don't have an issue with Yeldon, unless in the first.

I would not be waving a towel if it is in round two. Round three sounds about right to me.

Fumbling and injured.....just what we need

According to CBS Sports' reporter Dan Brugler, the Cowboys will make a move on Yeldon in the second round if Gurley is off the boards by the time they select in the first round. Many believe Yeldon is the perfect running back to replace DeMarco Murray in 2015. The former Alabama standout is solid in zone-blocking schemes while having great vision and cutting abilities. While Gurley is expected to go in the first round, Yeldon might not be off the boards until the second round setting up the Cowboys to select him.

Don't get the hate. He protects the QB, has good burst and change of direction, he's a patient runner and has good vision, catches the ball well, and always falls forward. There's a lot to like.

Imo he's currently the 3rd best RB in the draft.

didn't JJ say 'no RB's in the first.
JJ is fairly straight forward about what he says in my view
we'll see

I like Yeldon and wouldn't mind him being a Cowboy...but NOT with our first pick

Good, we are talking 2nd round here.

I always hear fumble mentioned with Yeldon but never with Gordon.

Gordon's fumble rate is quite bad.

35.4 -- Ameer Abdullah, Nebraska (8 5/8)
52.2 -- Kenny Hilliard, LSU (9 1/4)

54.4 -- Melvin Gordon, Wisconsin (9 3/4)
62.2 -- T.J. Yeldon, Alabama (9)

62.6 -- Jay Ajayi, Boise State (10)
63.2 -- Matt Jones, Florida (8 5/8)

72.3 -- Tevin Coleman, Indiana (8 5/8)
74.5 -- David Cobb, Minnesota (9 3/8)
77.5 -- David Johnson, Northern Iowa (9 5/8)
80.0 -- Javorius Allen, USC (9 3/8)
85.0 -- Duke Johnson, Miami (Fla.) (9 1/4)
87.3 -- Mike Davis, South Carolina (9 3/8)
91.5 -- Josh Robinson, Mississippi State (10 1/8)
92.7 -- Karlos Williams, Florida State (9 3/4)
123.2 -- Jeremy Langford, Michigan State (8 3/4)
125.0 -- Terrence Magee, LSU (9)
134.4 -- Zach Zenner, South Dakota State (9 5/8)
136.0 -- Cameron Artis-Payne, Auburn (8 7/8)
156.3 -- Dominique Brown, Louisville (9 1/2)

191.7 -- Todd Gurley, Georgia (10)
619.0 -- Malcolm Brown, Texas (10 1/4)

I have no clue how true this is, but Gruden said quite a few of those fumbles were because the QB didn't get the ball to him correctly... how many were that way?? S
