Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy admitted that Amari Cooper and La’el Collins’ decisions were difficult ones

The head coach confirmed what most Cowboys fans were frustrated with by saying that the goal this offseason was to keep as many in-house players as possible. But McCarthy also doesn’t want Dallas fans to panic. He said that there’s plenty of time left for the front office to make more moves and decisions before the 2022 season starts. He gave a football comparison to explain the offseason decisions so far:

“We’re still in the first 15 (minutes of the offseason). The first quarter is not even completed yet. If people are frustrated, well, sometimes games are a little frustrating. We’ve definitely come out with a run the football and take care of your own mindset. Outside of our own roster, we have a mindset where we’re not going to throw the ball deep with every snap. How’s that for a football analogy?’’

Well, Mike. Seems like Dallas is down by a lot after that “first quarter.” Will three more quarters of the offseason even be enough to get the team to where it needs to be? I guess that depends on what decisions are yet to be made. Based on the throwing the ball deep part of the quote, it seems the front office has no plans to throw big money at anyone outside of the organization. How did that go for the Joneses in the past? Seems ignorant to have faith in these next few quarters.

What else is he going to say?
My boss is screwing up?
Sure that would go over well.

i think MM's performance last season upset Jerry so much Payton is already here. Dont think MM sees the handwriting on the wall. If we have as bad a season as the direction we are going dictates after he is let go MM will be as much in demand as Garrett.

Last time Dallas made the playoffs in back-to-back seasons was in 2006 and 2007................15 years ago

Sorry Big Mike, but Cowboys aint the Packers, we dont make the playoffs every dam season. So, that means you are as done as a turkey on Thanksgiving. Time to go back to Wisconsin and watch more game tape on analytics.

he even sucked at analytics. all of his going for it on 4th down backfired and stopped after 4th game. His 2 minute clock analytics of run down the clock and kick a FG was questioned by everyone in the game

Exactly...........for somebody that claims they are an analytics expert, he sure sucked at it.

One of the most difficult things about this offseason is seeing MM still here.

The problem with that mentality is we were down by 14 to kickoff the game. We aren't hoping to be as good as last year. We are hoping to take a step forward, past the competition.

Hell, I believe him......he's obviously saying they are not done at all. Lots of moves left via free agency, draft, and maybe trades. Other than losing Gregory, it sounds like things are going as planned. I'm guessing we'll see them add at least one, maybe two free agent OLmen before the draft. (I'm keeping an eye on Will Hernandez ).

They tagged a TE that can't block, lost three starters, and brought back LVE.

But our offense could have one new starter at LG and two new starters on defense. With Bossman Fat being one of those starters. All is not lost.
I’m not worried about the defense. They essentially lost Gregory. Kazee and Neal aren’t losses.

Remember last season Lawrence missed 10 games. Gregory missed 5. Gregory was dominant against a bad Carolina team, a good New England team and a bad Washington team.

How many coaches come and go before you realize it’s not the problem?

It ain't over now, 'cause when the goin' gets tough, the tough get goin'. Who's with me? Let's go! Come on!
