3rd round? Are you kidding? This kid most likely wont even fall to us. If he does we should jump all over it and get that card to the podium as fast as we can.

Well, yeah it's extremely unlikely that he falls that far, I'm just saying that's the round I would want to take him at highest.

Meaning, I don't really want the guy.

We'd be fortunate to get him. Im all for 7 rounds of DL & OL help, but if Evans falls to us its a no brainer to take him unless we get a great offer to trade down.

I would totally do it. 8 out of the last 10 Super Bowl champions had an All-Pro WR tandem.

That's fine. Some people value him. I just don't look at him and assume he will be very good. I think he can be good, but I don't want to be the one drafting him to find out whether or not he is and end up possibly wasting a pick on something that would've been a luxury anyway.

I'm not even really talking about stacking the OL and DL, I just don't think the WR position is all that important especially when we're in pretty decent shape.

I wouldn't like it but if he's the bpa and there isn't a dl or ol that close to where they are picking I wouldn't mind much.
Agree, as much as it would hurt not to take someone on defense with our first pick, Evans was a monster in college. He's not Dez, but the way he takes the ball away from DBs right in front of their face reminds me of Dez. I don't know what he'll time at -- maybe slow, I'm not sure -- but he was fast enough to make tons of big plays in college.

And speaking of Dez, this would make a lot more sense if we decided we couldn't reasonably keep re-sign him and Tyron... But I know that won't happen. Dez is an all-time Jerry project favorite and I expect Jerry to pay him an absolute fortune.

Is he lining up in the front seven?

Absolutely you consider it if there's not comparable DLineman. I'm also not crazy about man of the first round OLinemen in this class.

No No No !!!! Im tired of Wr's... Unless he is a freak like Moss, no go boss. OG , LB,LT, S, DE, DT is where there team should be looking at with a first round pick.

You never want to look back wondering why you didn't take an elite talent because you were trying to fill a current need.

It's hard enough to consistently draft well. When you start forcing picks at certain positions it becomes almost impossible.

He isn't an elite talent.

TE is talented in the 1st however TE is the one position that will not be taken early.

Liking WR Mike Evans/Safety Ha Ha Clint-Dix as well at #17 but pulling for future Trench Dominance instead on both sides of the line of scrimmage and 2014 is a nice Draft to address those needs in the first 2 Days.

Of course the ole BPA in the 1st cuts the mustard 375 Days a Week be it WR, LB, Safety, QB or yeup even (mouth puke) Corner in the first 3 Rounds.

Re: Should we draft a WR I say yes we should, and we should grab a guy we have confidence in. My pick is in the 4th round for Mike Davis TX. Just ran a 4.43 40 and should have a good combine. Works out with Dez a lot and Dez says he wants him on the team. I like that chemistry factor, and if he's good enough for Dez, he's good enough for me. The thing is, he could go earlier than the 4th, particularly with a good combine.

He's Matt jones minus the drugs.

While I don't think Evans is an elite talent, he isn't Matt Jones, either. Evans at least has played the WR position in college whereas Jones was asked to make the conversion from QB to WR in the NFL. Evans probably won't have as fast a 40 time as Jones put up.

Wouldn't hate it if the draft fell that way. If he's higher rated on the board than what's available, go for it.
