If there is no DL available then i'd be ok with a WR..

I think I like Marquise Lee for our team though. We haven't had speed like that in a long time.

I really like Evans. If Donald isn't there, I wouldn't scream at the pick, though I would be even more nervous about our defense for the upcoming year.

If Jerry Jones takes a WR in the first round I'll be extremely peeved. That's arguably the the position of least need on this team.

I wouldn't be surprised though...

So some people don't like a safety in the first but would be ready to draft a Te playing WR

You never want to look back wondering why you didn't take an elite talent because you were trying to fill a current need.

It's hard enough to consistently draft well. When you start forcing picks at certain positions it becomes almost impossible.

This is one of the simplest, yet most profound statements about the draft process. Just because you need a player at a certain position doesn't mean that a guy who fills that need will be available when you are on the clock. Moreover, selecting a guy who plays a particular position doesn't mean you have actually filled that position, it just means that you have given yourself a chance at filling the position.

If you give me choice between selecting a guy that is considered elite at his position and has a low probability of being a bust (at a position that you already have a player in front of him at that is a stud) and a 50/50 dice throw at drafting a player who just fills a position of "need", I'll take the elite player every time.

I don't care if Evans is BPA, unless Sammy Watkins miraculously slips out of the top 10 (doubt he gets passed 5) - under no circumstances should we take a WR in the early rounds, especially the first.

No kidding. I can't imagine the reaction in the CZ if we were to go WR in the 1st.

I think we've proven that loading up on receivers and offense doesn't win us games. We've tried that. We had Owens/Glenn then Owens/Roy Williams, then Dez/Austin, and don't forget that we've had an All-Pro tight end the entire time. All of these theories and combinations just hasn't worked. The only saving grace for us to is create a pressure defense or there's another scenario but I won't get in to it. Not being negative here, it's just been the truth.

You don't build Super Bowl teams with receivers. Detroit should be a lesson in that.

Raven may scoop up Evans a pick before Dallas @16, a lot of the rankings especially in the top 20 or so depend on the results of the NFL Combine and Pro Day workouts as well.
