TNA World Heavyweight Champion Kurt Angle

TNA World Heavyweight Champion Kurt Angle was arrested early this morning on charges of driving under the influence, TMZ.com reports.

The Olympic gold medalist was arrested by Virginia State Troopers and taken to Warren County Jail. He posted $2,000 bond and was released at 3:31 a.m.

Angle was previously arrested on March 25, 2011 in Grand Forks, North Dakota and charged with "being in control of a motor vehicle while intoxicated," after failing a field sobriety test. He later pled guilty to the charges and was on April 20 sentenced to one year of unsupervised probation, a chemical dependency evaluation, a $250 fine, $225 in court fees, and a ten day suspended jail sentence.

I just realized that the thread title said Kurt was champ. Haven't been watching but if they are smart whoever he defends against will win & they will get him some help before someone dies by his hand. Jeff going off the deep end for the umteenth time is no big loss to me..losing an athlete like Kurt is a loss. He needs to get his act together..needs help.

you know what I find really funny though? Not to hi-jack this thread but when the WWE ratings fall, a certain someone comes by and lets everyone know, but when a certain brand's numbers fall, he remains no where to be found.

TMZ is reporting today that sources close to Kurt Angle feel that he has been framed by Virginia police after being arrested for DWI yesterday. Angle stated that he passed a breathalyzer test, meaning he was not legally drunk, when he was arrested for driving erratically on Interstate 66 yesterday morning after a TNA house show. Angle's lawyer stated, "We understand Kurt will be entering a plea of not guilty in response to any infractions and/or offenses."

TNA's rating fluctuate from a 1.05-1.28 from any given week. RAW usually doesn't fall to a 2.7, so I guess posting that was obscene? Sorry for insulting you.

That's the main problem with Alcoholics, they never think they have a problem. He really needs to get help

2.7 is one of the lowest ratings of all time for RAW. When it's below a 3 its a shock, and I actually think it was 2.6 that week not 2.7. Nonetheless if TNA went and pulled a .85, which would be around the equal level of shock I would post it.

RAW is a show that was pulling 4.5s + a few years ago. 2.7 is half. The Rock/Mick Foley segment for Rocks bday pulled a 8.2?

Also find it funny you mentioned that, Public Speaking is the career my guidance counselor advised for me

I tend to believe Kurt Angle. I don't know why, and no it's not because hes in TNA. He's a guy that a few months ago was saying he was going to get into Olympic shape, everyone on the internets was laughing at him saying hahahano, and he has done it. In 3 months.

Guy's an American Hero and until he's proven a liar i'm believing Kurt. He's done everyone else he said he would this year, and he gets mocked anyway.

Guys a top 5 wrestler of all time, now that doesn't attest to his maturity, look at Flair, but Angles different, he was also a legitimate athlete. Guy deserves respect, not being ripped by fat nerds on wrestling websites every day for staying in TNA . He's sticking with what he believes in, and that deserves respect not ridicule.

R2A I hope your last post gets deleted..your language is awful & the post made my IQ lower by just reading it. Kurt is NO hero..just an athlete. A man in obvious trouble who will end up dead or killing somebody unless he mans up & gets some help. People don't get arrested for multiple DUI's unless they have a problem. I say that as a Kurt fan but c'mon he has issues. He's no hero!

Onto the topic, Kurt Angle is a hero to me. The guy lost his wife, was forced into a storyline for 7 months with the man who stole her from him. You know what? I'd drink too.

If he drank and drive i'm sure he wasn't much past he .08 limit, with the weight he has dropped in the past few months I wouldn't be surprised at all if he had 2, 3 drinks and thought oh im good, got in the car got pulled over and got in trouble because he BAC was a little over. It happens when you lose weight & he looks like he has dropped 30 or so pounds.

I prefer to give people the benefit of the doubt, until proven wrong. It's the law in america, and I personally believe it's what I would prefer if I was in a similar situation.

He has had substance abuse issues in the past and as I said people don't get busted for DUI within a few months without there being something wrong. I doubt seriously state troopers framed him. He better get help. He is his own worse enemy at this point.

Everytime anyone in TNA screws up he's right there to point it out, yet anything wrong with WWE goes by unspoken of by him. They are one in the same, alright.
