The Cowboys have 18 players on their board with r1 value according to Broaddus.

The thought they would trade down to 31 is basically crazy imo.

Let's say the r1 guys left when we draft are say a TE and a RB and yet we refuse to draft one? OK so we want to trade down a bit. But trading down to 31? That's a free fall and makes no sense unless the haul is severe.

Dallas likely misses on guys like Sly Williams, DJ Fluker, Kenny Vaccaro, Datone Jones and Bjorn Werner from such a freefall.

Broaddus said Cowboys have a first round grade on 16 players, not 18.

If they have 18 draftable players that they have ranked as r1 talent, then yes, trading down to 31 would be out of the question, as they will 100% for sure get one of those guys.

The number 18 does sound about right....though I can't imagine that Broaddus would have the exact number right.

The only scenario where they could trade down (and not very far) would be if several of those 18 were still onthe board when pick 18 comes up.

Thank you. Trading down is for draft wizards. If Jerry is scratching his head at 18 I would honestly rather see him reach into his pocket and use Mel Kiper's guide than whatever it is he THINKS he's doing.

Ok, that's a snap reaction... trading down can make sense especially with all of our holes. But please Jerry, don't get too cute.

Vikes are in pretty good shape where they're at to get their MLB and to get a falling DE to help out Jared Allen. And there will be 2nd round WRs available that can help them. I don't think they move up unless Tavon Austin slips for some reason, and even then, they'd have to move up past us at 18.

No, they need WR help in the worst way. I think they have to take a WR here and then a DT. They can get a MLB later in the draft.

They have Jennings for a few years at high production. This is like the myth we have to get Oline in the first or the entire year is ruined.

We don't have to draft Oline in the first? ;)

Patterson will prob be there when sf drafts, no reason to trade up. If tavon drops then yea..
