I would like to see them play the 3-4 the way it was meant to be played. Sending different 4th rushers to keep the o-line from knowing where its coming from. Thats what the Steelers and Patriots have done to beat the Colts in the past.

Gotta play him the way the Chargers and the Steelers played him last year, but I don't see us being able to pull off that kind of pressure and get him as uncomfortable as he was in those games.

Added the abiltiy to make the play on the move this year, that he didnt in past years.....

Always had decent mobility, but completion % dropped down considerably when you could force him to get on the move...........

Caught article that stated he worked very hard on it all off-season as he felt it has been what has kept them out of superbowl

so...............food for thought

You have to bring pressure every play. Every play. You don't come after him, he will pick you apart. Without Ellis, someone better step up.

problem is that the cowboys blitz is ineffective against any team

i say we mix it up

Well if you want to do what the Bills did today.

Put 7/8 back in coverage every play, and control the clock, run the ball down their throats.

you blitz Manning as Manning is easily rattled when he is hit. if we blitz and dont hit him then he will easily tear us apart. you know i dont even care if early in the game we get a penalty for late hit on the QB, whoever is blitzing they gotta hit him and hit him hard.

the other key will be just avoid getting him getting the ball by running the ball heavily against their soft pathetic run D which is how the bills, jets, and titans almost beat them even though all 3 of them arent very good teams. that will probably be our best form of D and that is how i think we beat them, with a heavy lethal dose of Jones and Barber

while im not crazy about Mike Zimmer, this is by far his biggest challenge, if his scheme shuts down the Colts, i will never doubt him again.

Manning has been eating up the blitz all season -- going into today, he had 8.9 yards per pass attempt, 9 TDs (plus one rushing), one INT, a 121 passer rating and only four sacks out of 59 blitzes.

The teams that have stopped the Colts this year have done it with very little blitzing, pressure or sacks -- only two sacks and two hurries COMBINED in three games by the Jags (14 points allowed), Titans (14 points allowed) and Bills (17 points allowed). You might blitz every now and then to try to surprise him and get a big play, but if you're going to blitz, blitz, blitz, you're also going to pay, pay, pay.

honestly, i think the colts play down to their competition. they have eggs against the titans and bills, but they come out ready to play against the broncos or patriots.

hopefully they think the cowboys suck.

I may stand corrected. I still think our best chance is for someone to go Kerrigan on his knee.
