Our only hope is to put 7/8 in coverage, and make manning go 10 plays for the score. On Offense do the same thing. That will make it a low scoring game.

Do NOT let him throw a quick strike. He LOVES to go long, so make him go short all game. Make the game fly by.

and on O Run Run Run

The key to beating Indy is easy. Actually executing it is much harder. On offense, we have to run the ball and stick with it. We need to keep their offense off the field and make them press when they do get on the field. On defense, we have to pressure Manning. If we let him sit in the pocket, he'll eat us alive. How do we know this? Because it's exactly how New England and Pittsburgh have beaten them. We have to frustrate their offense by keeping them off the field and by hitting Manning over and over. Their defense if very average, especially against the run.

Manning has been eating up the blitz all season -- going into today, he had 8.9 yards per pass attempt, 9 TDs (plus one rushing), one INT, a 121 passer rating and only four sacks out of 59 blitzes.

The teams that have stopped the Colts this year have done it with very little blitzing, pressure or sacks -- only two sacks and two hurries COMBINED in three games by the Jags (14 points allowed), Titans (14 points allowed) and Bills (17 points allowed). You might blitz every now and then to try to surprise him and get a big play, but if you're going to blitz, blitz, blitz, you're also going to pay, pay, pay.

Good stuff - email that to Zimmer

Wrong Cowboys19. If we just sit back in coverage without pressuring Manning, we'll give up yards by the bushel. We have to make Manning uncomfortable in the pocket. That's a given.

It's a misconception that Manning throws deep a lot. He doesn't. His receivers rack up yards after the catch, but most of his throws are short to intermediate. Their offense is a timing offense and we have to interrupt their precision. Pressure, pressure, pressure. We dont' have to sack Manning, but we do have to hit him and make him uncomfortable.

If we don't get in Mannings face, it's over. What they will do is attack our safeties as they do to all teams. They get all 3 WRs into the secondary on 2 deep zones, and kill teams trying to match up WR VS. SS or FS.

The TE will be huge also, I'm thinking nickel or dime the entire game and if they must run the entire game, see if they will be patient enough to run the entire game long.
