Roy Williams stood up after Sunday's win over Atlanta and called it the worst game of his life. He didn't use his sore ribs as an excuse or blame the quarterback for not throwing the ball his way enough.
He stuck by those words Wednesday.
"I don't want to blame it on rust,'' said Williams, who caught one pass and dropped two others. "I don't want to blame it on medication or anything like that. I just played terrible.
"The thing I've got to do, I've got a chance to get better this week. I'm glad that wasn't the last game of the year because I would have to live with this for four or five months.
"But that taste is out of my mouth. I'm ready to roll. I'm ready to catch the ball and do the things I've been doing.''
Head coach Wade Phillips appreciates that approach.
"I think it says a lot for Roy that he said, 'I had a bad game,''' Phillips said. "To me, guys like that who have ability and work hard...
"The guys who never admit any mistakes always worry me.''
Have the Cowboys had any receivers like that the past few years?
