This is a HUGE loss for all of the NFL family, especially for the Commanders. I can only hope the Cowboys honor a true warrior of the game in some fashion. I think we all should show our respect...

God bless his family and friends in this very difficult time.

There is no doubt they will honor taylor. We will as will every team for the rest of the season.

I will take pictures of anything that is done thursday.

This being the first game played after Taylor's death, they will surely devote a lot of time to it in the pregame, but a moment of silence before the kickoff would be appropriate enough.

If Stringer and Williams had been murdered during the season, I have no doubt their memories would have been commemorated somehow during the next week's games - just as Sean's will fittingly be this weekend, and probably Thursday, as well.

The NFL is already working on ways to honor ST's memory this week.

He didn't play for us so I do not see why the Cowboys should have to do anything.

We didn't hold a moment silence for Kory Stringer, Darrent Williams, so why for Sean Taylor?

We probably will and that will be fine but if we don't who cares?

As for it being a huge loss for the NFL, why? It is a loss for his family and child but in a few years, he will be just a name in a book on NFL history.

Jerry invited Darrent Williams mother into training camp this year when Denver came up to practice.

Jerry does a lot of stuff that doesn't get all that advertised(though this incident did).

I don't think you will see Dallas doing anything special for Sean during Thursday's game. The league, probably so.

Personally, I don't think any team has the right. The Commanders are the only ones who should be doing anything extra special for Mr. Taylor. They were his family and his ball club. Let them do those special things. It's only right.

For the poster who said the other guys who died were not as good as ST thus did not deserve said honors.

That had to be one of the most rediculous posts I have ever read. Please don't throw stuff out there so nonchalant. It's bad form.

Goodell already said something will be done at all games this weekend. Even if that's only something as simple as a moment of silence.

Joe Gibbs said the plan is for everyone in the complex to attend Sean's funeral in Florida. Snyder said he believes that funeral will likely be sometime early next week and all teams are wearing No. 21 on their helmets this Sunday.

Dan Snyder said he visited with Sean's girlfriend and daughter this morning. He said the team will honor Sean on their jerseys and helmets Sunday - if not the entire season - and every stadium will have a moment of silence this week prior to kickoff.

Some other stuff

By 5:30, tailback Clinton Portis, a close friend of Taylor's, was in Snyder's hotel room, performing the heartbreaking chore of calling his teammates. "He spent a couple of hours calling as many as he could get ahold of," Snyder said.

Snyder said there have been no discussions at this point about moving the date or time for either game, but he has not had time to consult the league or think about asking to have a game postponed at this point.

I dunno - but it SHOULD be gone - it was classless.

What was classless about it?

He has a very valid point. The Broncos are the only team honoring Darrent Williams, the Patriots are the only team with a sticker for Marquise Hill on their helmet.

How about something for Damien Nash who died after a charity basketball game. While maybe not a star player, he was a great person, founding a heart transplant group.

Even if the point is sound, the timing is a little off, I would say.

I would hope we could all appreciate whatever NFL teams decide to do to remember Sean, without drawing comparisons to what was done for others. Even those with anti-war sentiments were able to set those aside when Pat Tillman died and was remembered.

Because he questioned why it was such a huge loss for the NFL that's why. It is most certainly a huge loss for the NFL, to suggest that it isn't is ridiculous.

Figures, you'd be one to join that position.

Its a terrible thing what happened. But we need to take a step back and look at the big picture...this kind of stuff happens all the time...stuff even worse than this happens every day. I feel bad for his family and everything but lets focus more on stoping needles violence that effects ALL people than the man Sean Taylor. I don't think its necessary to do anything more than a moment of silence at the begining of the game...its kind of sad that the only reason this get attention is becuase he played in the NFL when every week kids are shot in drive bys and other such incidents...I guess my rambling does not have much of a point other than I know its terrible what happened to Taylor and my prayers are with his family but all the sappy, corny, over the top symbolism and acts of honor kind of bother me because when other people who are just as human and have lived better lives or are more innocent get killed no one says boo.
