to put it bluntly Petiti needs to be benched

QBs usually play poorly when they aren't protected.

We protect Bledsoe (w/o having to keep 2 or 3 in to help) then he'll be fine. Period.

I agree 100%...

I would toss in Peterman at RG and move Rivera to RT. Leave the left side as is. After the last few showings, what have we got to lose ???

I don't really have super high hopes for the kid. He seems not to have improved during the year very much.

He plays mentally scared. He needs to get over it if he wants to play in this league because he has the physical and mental ability to play.

Rivera doesn't have enough strength, size or quickness to play tackle. He would be abused out there. Several people here thought it was a mistake to bring him in - they were right.

What has he done this year that is better than what Tucker did as a rookie? Ideally he is a backup/developmental guy. He should not be starting and regularly gets abused.

OL can take a long time to develop so I'm not saying he won't get better - I just fail to see the huge potential that others see.

My question to you is why don't you contact Parcells with the solution?

He needs your help desperately.

Petitti is not perfect and he's having a rough time, but tell me the solution. No, scratch that, don't tell me. There's not a damned thing I can do about it.
Good one Hos. That's very similar to what I used to say when you guys were complaining about Carter at QB.

No it isn't because I never agreed with you.

Honestly, I would take my chances by putting a statue out there instead of Petitti.

Scratch that. Any warm body would do. :laugh1:

I think my grandmother can do a better job.

I will tell you this much though....julius pepper is going to LAY ROB AWAY WHEN WE PLAY THEM...you thought that strahan was tough wait til he goes against the new freak!

HE IS A FREAKIN 6TH ROUND PICK BLOCKING A PRO-BOWL CALIBER PLAYER.. GOSH people expect WAYYYY to much.

this is true what can we expect from a sixth round pick going against top defense ends in the game right now. also he is learning how to play rt after playing left all of his college time. having jacob rodgers being a busted draft pick has really screwed us this year and maybe for the future as well.

Since when is draft status an excuse for poor play?

i am not saying that petiti gets a free pass here because of his draft place. he sucks i will say that now. there is no way he should be starting right now. i am just saying that this was the year that rodgers was suppose to step up and be the right tackle of the future for us and he screwed us when he got hurt again. parcells and jones failed to upgrade the right tackle position in training camp when they had the chance. now we are paying the price for it.

Pettiti needs that full yr of off season work, The power he should gain might make him a starting RT. At worst he's a solid swing tackle. That's good for a sixth round pick.

Exactly. K. Davis, Shanle, and Reeves don't get a free ride base on their draft status and Rob shouldn't either.

I think that's the stickler... There was one sack by Strahan where Rob was in perfect position to push Michael outside. Even with Rob's obvious size advantage, Strahan ran through Rob's arms like they were NOTHING. Yes, Strahan is damn strong even in his new light weigthed version. But Rob has to be damn weak to be not able to push Strahan out of the way on that one sack I saw... We're stuck with the guy though. We can rail all we want against him but there's noone to replace him.

Sure there is. Any warm body will do. Hell, I'd even settle for a statue.

he's just not ready...he has given up ALOT OF SACKS ALL YEAR

STRAHAN - 4

BURGESS - 2

FISHER - 2

AND THERE ARE OTHERS...CANT REMEMBER THEM RIGHT NOW...HE IS TERRIBLE! I KNOW HE IS A ROOKIE...MAYBE BY NEXT YEAR HE WIL LHAVE HIS STRENGTH TOGETHER BUT RIGHT NOW HE HAS TO GO TO THE BENCH!

Aren't we forgetting Jacob Rogers went down with a season-ending injury in training camp?

Yah-Parcells is really an idiot, isn't he?

Rogers was his pick. He is going down in flames with him.

Why? Injuries DO happen-unfortunately. If Rogers HAD stayed healthy, we wouldn't be having all these "Why does are RT stink?" threads. And it wasn't like he had injury problems at USC either.

You must be a new fan. Rogers could have played through his injury this year, but he opted for surgery instead so he could sit on his arse and get paid for nothing.

He was hand picked by BP, and shows why BP needs to stick with coaching and leave the GM duties to someone else.
