to put it bluntly Petiti needs to be benched

You must be a new fan. Rogers could have played through his injury this year, but he opted for surgery instead so he could sit on his arse and get paid for nothing.

He was hand picked by BP, and shows why BP needs to stick with coaching and leave the GM duties to someone else.

Tend to agree that coaches need to do that-just coach. However-glad that Bill P is running things in Big D rather than Jerry.

BTW-why hasn't the Jones family bothered to hire a GM all these years?

HE IS A FREAKIN 6TH ROUND PICK BLOCKING A PRO-BOWL CALIBER PLAYER.. GOSH people expect WAYYYY to much.

Hes a starter so he better be able to block someone. I dont think its asking too much to expect our starting tackles to at least slow down the opponents pass rush.

Agreed-this 53 man roster is probably by far our best since that infamous Herschel Walker trade.

You anti-Parcells guys may be happy to see Jerry give him the pink slip when all is said and done, but
things will get FAR worse when Norv Turner will be pacing the sidelines next year. :lmao:

I guess if he's having trouble blocking him this would be the next best thing

I think the reaction to Rob is going to be in the extremes since his old man posts here. Some are going to be as kind as possible to kiss up to dad, and some are going to be too harsh because they don't want to be seen as biased. Could Rob play much better? Yeah. But will you find many 6th round rookies holding up in some of the games this year like he has? No. This entire offensive line has problems, I hope folks don't scapegoat one guy. I guess the big thing that worried me about yesterday was that on same plays Strahan was just physically overpowering Rob. I expect the rookie to mess up on some moves, but Strahan was just picking Rob up on some of those plays and this is the guy who was 350ish in college.

Sure there is. Any warm body will do. Hell, I'd even settle for a statue.

Sorry, but we've already got him playing QB.

i understand that but i think he could be ready soon...i will tell you this i would have kept vollers for sure at this point...even if he was hurt...

That is a decision that appeared very strange at the time and it appears now was very foolish. At the very least, we never appeared to want to resign him, as we did Cundiff. To my knowledge he was not eligible to be resigned until a few weeks ago and the Colts made a quick move while we did not appear interested.

Good post. The whole line has been an issue. The QB does not make their job easier.

But even earlier in the season, it was clear who the weak link was. At that point, it was assumed that Petitti would get better with experience. From what I have seen, he did not learn anything from his earlier encounter with Michael Strahan and that is an indication that he may be in over his head.

And the part about overpowering is also bothersome. He just appears that in losing the mass, he did not replace it with strength. Combine that with poor footwork, handwork and technique, it was an easy day for Strahan.

Rogers was his pick. He is going down in flames with him.

Plus didn't Parcells and everyone else know that Rogers had injury issues in college and he still picked him?

It was common knowledge but because he was a "coach's son" he got a free pass on the issue.
