Against crappy teams.It isn't hyperbole.
A bunch of teams won last year with backup QB's.

I don't remember seeing a team go undefeated with a back up?
Every team can lose even with the starter in place the whole year.
The Rams have had multiple starters (high drafted as well) and they have not had winning records.
Look at the number of QBs the Browns have been through without winning seasons.
The raiders are just now starting to turn the corner after years of different QBs.
His point was hyperbole.

Thanks! I was waiting for someone to start a thread where I could sulk and cry in. It doesn't appear to be any lately!
1-12 with a backup? Impressive. 1 in 13 isn't the odd game. It's an outlier.
I disagree. We're talking about a team that can't win with a backup, not a team that 'never loses' with one.
You and I both know that even that '1' that fans want to point to wasn't any type of a quality win or any result of good quarterback play.
A win is a win is a win...unless you want to ignore fact and then the win is not the type of a quality win...which makes no difference because at the end of the day...it was a win.
I know it is tricky...but facts be facts.
How long are people going to use this as an excuse? It's almost like our starting QB went down last year and we had no backup QB that could even provide a spark of hope last year.
Weird.
Yeah, you would be lucky to win half your games with a backup quarterback, but eight straight home losses and a 1-14 record is a bit extreme.
I mean, Campo was saddled with some abysmal quarterbacks, but he never lost eight straight home games. He never lost more than four games in row. Garrett has a seven game losing streak and a five game losing streak in just the past fifteen games.
This is territory we haven't seen since the 1988/89 seasons, and during the 1989 season the team was trying to suck.

And yet Campo is vilified while Garrett continues to be propped up.
Say what you want about poor Coach Dave, but the guy was dealt about the worst hand you can possibly get during his time as head coach. A lot more legitimate excuses could be made for him than the current guy.

Did you hear the story campo told two weeks ago about them cutting Tony banks? he had just finished telling some people how carter needed a ton of time to learn and thankfully they had banks to play and give him time. They cut banks and didn't even ask campo...They told him after!

Wow! I hadn't heard that!
That truly speaks to the dysfunction going on at that point with Jerry's hands in everything. And the corresponding results speak for themselves.
My sympathy for poor Coach Dave grows.
Yes but in that time he won a HR derby. Helps to keep the spirits up.
