Asim Richards has always looked promising to me. If he is that much better, the Cowboys may have too many good offensive linemen, if you can have too many good offensive linemen.

Probably will be, but I want to see Waletzko back at LT in the preseason. I thought he showed some good things in the brief glimpses we got his rookie year. Between being switched to RT last preseason to learn to swing and the second shoulder surgery, he looked bad ... and it's possible his shoulder problems have finished him.
He may end up in Washington, especially if released. He may not make it to the PS.
I have not really looked at the depth of the OL much lately but he is probably around 10th or 11th right now. They will keep 9 at the most likely. They have kept 10 before, and even 8 one time.

It depends on what they think of Bass and Edge, and the rookie Thomas, in which they seem to keep all of their draft picks.
Ball is below Waletzgo. And both have injury history.

I think it will be Guyton, Smith, Beebe, Martin and Steele as starters with Richards, Bass, Hoffman and Edoga as backups. So the 10th spot (which is the most I think we'd keep) would come down to Thomas and Waletzko. I think the newest draft pick is more likely to be kept than one who has had to have two shoulder surgeries. I wouldn't mind if both Guyton and Richards look good letting go of Edoga, but his experience and ability to play all but center help him with a roster spot.

Continues to prove it. Juanyeh Thomas just has a knack for playmaking. Gotta find him some space. Reminds me of the type of player Parcells used to talk about when people would question him about Dat Nguyen.

Good to hear about Asim Richards. Already knew Hoffman and Bass were doing their part, but if Richards is coming along too, that's some scary potential depth on the offensive line along with our draft picks this year. Nice to see a bunch of young hungry big men fighting for the jobs. Competition is always good.

Been reading these Training Camp reports for decades and one thing is for sure.... there is always too much hype, especially in the Jerry Era. So I'll remain cautiously optimistic, but still enjoy reading the positive news.

Look on the interet and you'll see lots of stories with the title of something along the lines of "Trey struggles". He's missing easy throws in 7 on 7 drills, and he's supposed to supplant Dak?

The guy looks to be a massive bust.
Yeah, I actually read the articles too. Most of them are based off a clip of him throwing two incompletions and a pass getting picked that bounced off the receiver (ie not his fault). It's a shame he's not Tom Brady yet.

Big guys with quik feet and hands are given a chance.....just as left handed pitchers in baseball.

Any news on the other big O.line taken 7th round, Nathan Thomas? Between Guyton, Asim and maybe Thomas.....not many tackle or guard spots left
Haven't seem anything in Thomas from camp, but I think they are looking at him as an OG

Downfield blocking by WRs is a very under rated skill
and when trying for a catch working to prevent a pick is something not done anywhere often enough

It would be great to have some good insurance if Steele doesn't return to form.
A very good swing tackle is a must for a team wanting to challenge for it all; everyone gets dinged up now and then and you need decent insurance if one of your tackles misses a game or two

They really do have some talent and depth along the OL. It’s the one thing that seems to be pointed upward within this organization.

A good OL can mask several other problems and probably why they value it. They are plenty enough dumb, but not fully.

This thread is all over the place. The thread title suggests it's about Asim Richards but when you read on, posters get on a half dozen tangents which derails the thread. Great job, mods. ;)

Richards impressed me last preseason.

Thought he would have been given a larger role this year, but Guyton was drafted.
Wouldn't shock me if Richards is your left tackle....and Guyton takes over for Steele. Steele was awful last year. Gonna get your QB killed...
