Todd Grantham accepts offer to be UGA Defensive Coordinator

I must have missed where anyone said it was. This comment seems rather random.

I must've misinterped this quote

He also has ties to Wade. He could be given a title of Assistant DC and it is not a lateral move. He is one of the 2 coaches I was hoping came with Wade. The other was John Pagano. I do like Herring a lot though.

I figured you meant, make him d-line coach/assistant DC as opposed to just d-line coach so it's not a lateral move. IMO, the extra title was not needed

Nor do I because I kind of doubt we would put tender offers on them. I could be wrong though. I was on Procter getting one of those.

with no cap, why not tender Hatcher? If we draft someone, we can later release him.

I was talking about Wayne Nunnely, not Jim Jeffcoat. Read the quote I was replying to. No mention of Jeffcoat at all.

You and Hos are talking about 2 different people.

I wish Todd Grantham the best with his new job. He has done a very good job for us and for that I'm thankful. As far as who will take his place? I'm sure Wade has some names in mind.

I wish Grantham the best, he's done a good job here, but Mark Richt might be out of work at this time next year if Georgia doesn't get better. Risky move.

True but if you are a good coach people around the game will know it and someone will always look to add a quality coach.

I doubt we will lose Spears but Hatcher and Bowen are also FAs so it is likely we lose at least one if not both of them if they can get shots as starters. That is why my mock drafts have been looking at 3-4 DEs lately.

I don't think either Hatcher or Bowen are going to be UFAs next year. Neither has the years in the league to qualify under the new rules next year.

I would only worry about losing Bowen, who has been a very efficient wave player. Hatcher, not so much. Regardless, I do not think someone is going to shell out the choices to sign them as you described.

Hatcher has been injured much of the year. He is just getting healthy now and shouid see more playing time. He's a gamer IMO.

That was my first thought, too. I think Richt has more than a year left but I still don't think he's that solid there.

I believe they, like Austin, will be RFAs.

Movement in the coaching ranks is an unfortunate reality of today's NFL. Quality coaches are in-demand and its nearly impossible to keep staffs intact for long intervals.

Hopefully, his actions will not serve as a tangible distraction for the defense. He has the defensive line executing at a high level. That must continue for this defense to remain dominant.

People are giving you grief about your sig, but you should finally give serious consideration towards changing your username instead. Strange is it may be, your sig is just your opinion. On the other hand, your username is an abomination.

What the hell does his username even stand for?

Nah, they are now called "Vikings" fans.
Right now they are one and the same! Most Deadskins fans here in DC may as well be donning Viqueens lavender the way they're supporting them this week!

Does it matter?
Not to me it doesn't. I was a fireman for 7 years. I found 2 bodies in fires in that time. My cousin also lost a husband and 2 month old baby in a fire. His username disgusts me.

What do you think about Jeffcoat as a coach?

Why would a guy leave the Cowboys to go take the same position in college?

Is it the money? I wonder what the Cowboys pay him...
