Talk about a guy who was just thrown on the roster because a roster spot was open, am I the only one who thinks this guy has loads and loads of potential?????? His interviews tell his story, all he needs is some snaps and the rest is history. He has good size and he is, one of, if not, the fastest player at camp. I would love to see him get some first team snaps as the third reciever. Its only preseason whats a series in the 2nd quarter? He just needs to get into his playbook.

Based on the Hard Knox show, NO, you are not as it seems Garrett's father thinks the guy could be the next Jerry Rice. Interesting guy that we might be able to keep on the practice squad to develope.

they are just building a success story on him for hard knocks, once the show is over they will show his failure to make the team..

Ray Sherman seems a lil impatient with him at this point , I too would like to see him stick, but as he said "they're probably gonna go with the guys they don't have to worry about"...with some sound coaching this guy could turn into a very productive NFL receiver!

As they say the players who earn the rosters last 10 spots are not any different from the last 10 being cut. I think Parcells said this. We will see, I hope he can stay and develope.

you watched hard knocks and saw what the older garrett had to say about lowber, and all the sudden you are the ONLY ONE who think the guy is loaded with potential? have you ever saw the guy practice in person before, or did you simply base your opinion on hypes from the show?

not long ago many people who scouts with their computer were crazy after amendola, but their trains have come and gone, where is your gravy train?

in a word, yes

he's PS fodder at best and has about as much chance of making the active roster as I do of hitting the Mega Millions lotto

Even if we practice squad him this year, there still probably won't be room for him next year. Hurd or Austin might be gone depending on their production this year, but we will definitely bring in another vet or draft a WR high to replace them. Other than that we shouldn't really see any changes at WR.

This year it will be TO, Crayton, Hurd, Austin, Stanback

Next year it will be TO, Crayton, Hurd/Austin, Rookie/Vet, Stanback

So unless we decide to keep 6 next year, we won't see this guy wearing a star.

The guy doesnt even know to hold the ball on the outside shoulder, and he still hasnt looked bad. My point is he has a ton of learning to do, but he seems willing.

He could be an ideal PS guy. Maybe next year you see him make Miles Austin like improvements

He needs to make more than Miles Austin type improvement he needs to improve by leaps and bounds in a short period of time.

Miles basically could only run go routes las year. Now, so far he looks like hes developed a complete game.

If Lowber can make that kind of improvement, he could be a keeper

Practice Squad. There is something there, but he is nowhere near ready to be on a 53 man roster.

well stanbach was on our 53 man roster last year and he in the same position a Lowber lil better since he was drafted

Remember that the Vikings took him to camp last year and released him and then the Giants kept him on their practice squad and didn't bother re-signing him. (He was on a CFL practice squad until the Cowboys signed him) The guy is extremely raw, a stay on the practice squad to see if he continues to develop is really the best expectation.

Stanback was drafted in the 4th round. Thats not "a lil better". Being drafted in the 4th round pretty much guarantees a roster spot.

He is already a journeyman and hasn't played a down yet. He's another Stanback w/o the hands from all the practice reports I've seen.

he will not last on ps, miami is looking at him closely

How do you know that?

If he doesn't last long on the PS, then Dallas will go out and get another guy to fill the role. There are plenty of raw athletes out there. Very few of them actually pan out into good football players.

Stanback and Lowber are raw at the wide receiver position. Stanback is not raw as a football player. He played college QB. That gives him a big edge on Lowber who does not have a football background. That doesn't mean Stanback will pan out. He just has a stronger knowledge about football.

for Sherman, I think he's used to getting guys with some experience: high school, some college, etc. Lowber comes in with a very minimal amount of knowledge/instinct.

On his catch Saturday, if he'd turned up the sideline, he'd have been able to get by the defenders easily. But instead he hesitated, and ran into them. But the potential is there. Also noticing that he is working on learning to put the ball into his outside hand...something that might come naturally to more experienced players. But the potential is there. I hope we can keep him.

And of course, we have to unlearn him all the crap the Giants taught him last year and teach him the RIGHT way to do things. LOL
