Todd Lowber

Talk about a guy who was just thrown on the roster because a roster spot was open, am I the only one who thinks this guy has loads and loads of potential?????? His interviews tell his story, all he needs is some snaps and the rest is history. He has good size and he is, one of, if not, the fastest player at camp. I would love to see him get some first team snaps as the third reciever. Its only preseason whats a series in the 2nd quarter? He just needs to get into his playbook.

No you're not the only one to notice Lowber. He has a lot of what you're looking for in a prototypical #1WR. He has true elite speed. He's not just fast. And he has a lot of ability for someone with his experience. He's very smooth, adjusts on the ball well, pushes off well :), and just has it athletically.

He just doesn't have any experience which is killing him.

I do think some people are forgetting that to pick someone off our PS they have to sign the player to their 53 man roster. And I'm not certain but I believe they can't sign the guy and then put him on their PS quickly.

Does anyone know the rule as to how long they have to stay on the 53 man roster when picked off a PS?

Vikes and Giants have cut Lowber in past year....... ironically he may TAKE AMENDOLA'S PRACTICE SQUAD SPOT

*Daunte Culpepper is an Oakland Raider. Daunte…enough is enough. Just hire an agent. Please.

*Chilly’s comparing Todd Lowber to Forrest Gump …he can run like crazy, although he hasn’t been taking any hits yet. I’m rooting for Lowber to make it in the NFL, but that’s gotta be an extremely tough adjustment for someone who’s new to football…to actually start taking a pounding on the practice field. The coaching staff seems to be impressed with him thus far, as he’s been making some tough catches in practice.

SLAM DUNK FOR ARGOS: WR TODD LOWBER SIGNS
2008-07-23 11:26:00

Mississauga – The Toronto Argonauts Football Club is busy building a winner on the gridiron and on the hard court. WR Todd Lowber, a college basketball player who first played football when he signed in the NFL following his senior year, has signed a practice roster agreement with the club.

Lowber and new teammate, CFL All-Star Byron Parker, have something in common. Both were college basketball stars and neither had any significant football experience before turning pro. While Parker did play one season of football for Tulane University, Lowber signed with the NFL’s Minnesota Vikings right out of college – not having gained any collegiate football experience. A pure athlete, Lowber once cleared 7-feet while competing in high-jump at an NCAA track & field meet, and was a starter for two seasons with the Ramapo college basketball team in New Jersey. He spent all of last season on the New York Giants’ practice roster where he earned a Super Bowl ring.

based on the few plays that I saw. He doesn't adjust well to the ball in air and did not show me that he has any ability to run after catch. So this far he's just a practice squad guy at best.

Just the opposite of what I saw. I imagine the story is somewhere in the middle.

Yes - kid was a basketball/track guy in college.

He has little to no football experience and Vike's/Giants already cut him past year.

Practice squad at best for Lowber at Amendola's expense.....

.

Neither Amendola or Lowber can make the team this year, they are both very likeable guys however, so I hope to see them on the practice squad.

Yep, no chance at the 53, but hopefully that's not the end of him in Dallas. Garrett's father practically wants to adopt the kid.
