I have wondered if Ciskowski's "reassignment" (read: demotion) wasn't linked to Claiborne and the Sheriff Floyd debacle.

There is no doubt that Dallas has been among the very best drafting teams since 2010 though.

I have zero doubt that those two issue were the key to his demotion. A lot of things tend to come out on local sports talk radio here in DFW that never gets printed. Jerry, Stephen and Garrett were all really mad about the lack of communication between Ciscowksi and the coaching staff on the Floyd issue.

The Claiborne issue is more of just a guess, but it has been repeated locally over and over that they did not meet with Claiborne in any way prior to the draft. The Cowboys have since hired a company that helps with the mental makeup evals. This was done at the request of Garrett. It probably should have been done by Ciscowski.

If you're ever seen Ciscowski interviewd, it's not hard to understand why he was not a good manager. He is like some technical people that can go on and on about the technical details but fail when promoted to a manager position because they don't have good people skills and get so wrapped up in the details that they forget the big picture.
