Brady isn't a speck on any of those legends. We'll see what Brady does over the next 3 years. Folks it is not just Brady.... It is a TEAM. Not the New England Tom Brady. See how productive a QB can be with a line?

As far as I'm concerned, Brady is better than Montana (Montana did it with far superior weapons at WR and RB) in terms of present-day accomplishments. He's better than Aikman, IMO, who had excellent talent at the skilled positions. And I'd say he's on par with Elway, though slightly below because Elway accomplished more with less than Brady did. (Remember, Elway got three slightly average Denver teams to the Super Bowl with about the same talent at wide receiver as Brady did and with an inferior defense compared to New England's D.)

(BTW, I consider Elway the greatest QB of the modern era.)

Brady could have run the Cowboys offense of the 90s and the 49ers offense of the 80s and 90s. I don't know if his scrambling ability is on par with Elway's.

When his career is over, he will be a legend like Staubach, Montana, Elway and Aikman.

I disagree, Brady is not only a speck, he is without question in the same league. Of that I am sure.

40 years of watching football has shown me a number of QB's. Montana the best. No question. Forget about it. No question, the best. You know who is never mentioned?? Tarkenton?? Any of you remember him?? He was great. Stabach, sure very good, but behind a very, very good Boys team. Brady has very little talent behind him. Belichick is the defensive guy. Hey do we need a running back to take some pressure off, forget it. Draft defense. Wilfork, OK, I agree.

So, I ask who is going to win the NFC championship this year. I like Washington. I like Brunnell. I always thought the guy was great. Panthers, yes a chance. I don't see any other than these two teams winning.

But what the heck do I know -----

Interesting tyke1doe. I think Elway was great. I just like good football. When they went to the SB(twice to win), I rooted for them. Loved it. But, gee, I do not know. Montana, did you see that guy play??? I don't know. Elway better than Montana. I really don't think so. Maybe it was my youth. I just watched and said WOW!!! I never said that about a QB before.

Yes, I saw both play. I'm not taking anyway from Montana, but the fact he had great players around him takes him down just ever so slightly.

I believe if Elway had the same compliment of talent running the West Coast offense, the 49ers would have more Super Bowls, IMO.

That's why I have Brady rated a smidgen ahead of Montana. If he wins another Super Bowl in his career, he jumps up higher than Montana, IMO. The guy is as unflappable as Montana was and Montana won two of his Super Bowls with Jerry Rice and John Taylor - great receivers.

Who does Brady have? Givens, Brown, Branch and formerly Patten?

Well tyke1doe I never heard anyone talk about Elway as the best ever. He had a lot of talent around him as well. And he became who is was at the end of his career. I don't know. Well, yes I do. Montana. I sat, I watched. I was amazed. Yes, he had talent around him. But who is the number one guy on your team, the leader?? The Qb. But I would not fight you over it. Elway was great.

But, you know the guys that scared me when they came to Foxboro?? Marino and McNair. There were a lot of good QB's. But when they came to town,,,,,,

Tom Brady is just amazing. Granted the tuck rule/luck saved his rear end for 1 ring, but the other two rings had no luck involved. Has he already surpassed Aikman and Staubach in reputation? Is he even better than Montana? Is there any Qb you would rather have than Tom Brady? Has there ever been a more accurate QB ever? He just may be the all time best.

He got another ring off of how the Refs let the Patriots defenders totally get away with jackin the Colts WRs. It was unreal how no PI was called. The Patriots are the reason we have new PI rules cuz of what they got away with in that Colts Championship game.

As for Brady he is a great QB there is no doubt about it. One of the 20 best to ever play.

Brady never had the OL Aikman had. Brady never had the RB Aikman had. Is Brady that good? Gotta call it like it is. Gotta give Brady credit.

Don't discredit their o-line either. I think the second SB they won, he never got sacked in the playoffs. I don't think our o-line from the Aikman era could even boast that.

Between Brady and Peyton Manning they have the 2 best OLs in the NFL.

I could only imagine what kinda numbers Bledsoe woulda put up here if he had a OL half as good as what Brady and Manning have.

I dunno if Elway's teams were nessearily slightly average. THey were pretty good.

Montana, yes he had great weapons, but if you look at his SB numbers (4 games, 0 INTs) he didnt really make alot of mistakes.

I dont want to **** on Brady at all, I just would be a bit hesitant to just throw him up there. Granted he has done alot already, but it wasn't just him. It's a team game folks, and to think it was all Brady is just stupid.

And BTW, Montana didn't win a SB in Kansas City, but at hte end of his career, he was still pretty damn good out in KC. THat shows alot about his ability. 4/4 in the SB and 0 Int's, a very high completion percentage..you do realize his QB Rating in the SB is nearly perfect. ANd that's in 4 attempts. THats good, no matter who you throw it to.

Tom brady is already a hall of fame QB. No question.

People can make up whatever they want. The pats lost 4 offensive lineman this year. Brady was under pressure all season. No running game. He had 7 different running backs throughout the year.

and he leads the league in passing yards. and has a high qb rating.

no doubt he is one of the greatest of all time./
