Tom Doblin: On Mazzi Smith

Defense doesn’t really need anything else. It’s put up or shut up time for Quinn. Offense on the other hand could use a lot more depth on the line and another weapon or two.

"shore up secondary" We are stacked at DB.
Not really
We have Diggs who’s about to be up for a contract. We have Gillmore who is a FA after this season. We have bland and a bunch of guys who’ve shown nothing

MAZI SMITH, Michigan (6-3, 319, no 40, 2): The guy is a monster. He is just what the Cowboys need to stuff the run. With Mazzi stuffing the run and Micah rushing the Quarter Back, the Cowboys just have to shore up the secondary and let the offense to the rest. It will be a very interesting season.

A+ Pick
He’s a few years too late. We need a guy like him when Sean lee was here.

I have read a comment or two about Mazi Smith and a TCU game...suggesting he no showed or looked bad.

Can anyone elaborate on what happened in the TCU game and if it signals bad for NFL level?
you can watch his highlighlights vs TCU on youtube, make up your own mind later.

With Diggs being up for contract before long and Gilmore on a one-year deal, along with Anthony Brown coming off a serious injury we can’t ignore CB. Plus Kelvin Joseph has been a bust.

They kept the ball away from MS plus MS was playing every down it looks and got winded by the fast TCU style of play.

Joseph makes me feel confident
How does Diggs, Gilmore, Bland and Lewis make you feel? Plus, I get the feeling that we'll re-sign Brown as a backup if we don't take a CB early. That's five-deep before we get to Joseph.
