Let's see- Mincey,Hardy,Dlaw and Gregory are locks.Ryan Russell will make it IMO.so Jack will only make the team if we keep 6 DEs and he has competition too.

I really think he ends up being more of a 3 in camp than he does a DE. Plus, Hardy doesn't take up a spot early, right?

Lots of competition for a limited number of spots along the DL this year, either way.

I wonder if they'll move him inside semi-permanently.

He has good size 6'5, 275. If he added another 10-15lbs could be in the mix as a #3 DT.

He had 1 sack and 1 pressure in 65 snaps as a DT last season.

I am for it,we need a backup for the real Crawford.

What they have said on dc.com is that he will be a run down LE and work in the inside rotation for the pass rush.

My enthusiasm for him is tempered when, for some reason, I keep recalling Ben Bass and Willie Blade.

Anyway, good luck to him. Wish him the best.

He'll be in competition with Gardner, Whaley, McClain, Bishop, Hayden, on the inside I believe. I've said this for a few weeks now.

I think we'll have Lawrence, Russell, Hardy, Gregory as the primary rotation at DE. Mincey will work in on run downs at RDE while Hardy is out.

I think we'll have T Crawford and whoever makes it from the guys previously mentioned. McClain probably sticks if he's healthy. Whaley, Gardner and J Crawford battle it out for backup 3T. Hayden and Bishop battle it out for the 1T with McClain. Mincey can also move inside once Hardy comes back.

76 Greg Hardy DE

90 DeMarcus Lawrence DE
94 Randy Gregory DE
92 Jeremy Mincey DE

98 Tyrone Crawford DT/DE
97 Terrell McClain DT
66 Ken Bishop DT
96 Nick Hayden DT

64 Chris Whaley DT
58 Jack Crawford DE
99 Ryan Russell DE
93 Ben Gardner DE

79 Kenneth Boatright DE
60 Davon Coleman DT
95 Lavar Edwards DE
63 Efe Obada DE/TE

They probably keep 10 DL and Hardy won't count against the 53 to start the season. It makes me ill when I see Hayden's name on the roster above some young but more talented players.

At this point I don't think Tyrone is playing any more DE.

He'll definitely make the roster, assuming Hardy's suspension doesn't get reduced to 0, but at that point, it likely would come down to Crawford or Whaley for the last Dline spot. I think Crawford gets the nod due to him being able to play both positions and having been productive in NFL games.
